The wife of a close friend of mine just had a cesarean delivery at 30 weeks. He is quite worried because the baby is still premature, but I think 30 weeks is pretty ok. I am no expert but I think 7 months is pretty safe. I sure hope so. All we can do is pray for now. Do you know anyone who have birth to a premature baby?

My oldest niece (almost 12 years old now) was premature being born at six months. She had to be on oxygen for two years, have surgery to fix a hole in her heart around the age of one,had to be fed through a tube in her stomach for two and a half years, and then had to have physical therapy for years because her muscles had also been affected by being premature. While seven months is better than six months, it’s still dangerous. The baby has a much better chance of recovering quickly in this day and age, but I’m sure prayers will help too. Good luck to the family of your friend.

Wow i cannot imagine how tiny a 6 month old is. I'm so glad she made it. All we can do is wait and see, so far so good.

If a baby can make it past 26 weeks I believe it has a higher survival rate. I wish your friend luck and understand the concern. To early, regardless of how early, poses health risks.

I've heard news that the baby was delivered successfully without complications so far.

I will put in a prayer for the baby. With modern technology, I think it might be all right. I wish them all the very best,

Thank you so much. Yes, fortunately hospitals facilities are much better these past few years.

The baby will need to be in incubation until his or her vital organs are fully developed and she or he has gained a healthy weight.
