Does Elon Musk sound sane to you?

He does not to me.
Now, I love babies. Till they are about 5 or so.
Beyond that, well, I wouldn't want even mine.
That does not mean I do not care for children. I feel concerned about their food, their oxygen, their education, their safety, and their employment, and health.
Yeah...I feel more for them as a group than for any individual child.
So what is my contribution? I plan my work such that I don't have to travel much, and thereby I save on petrol consumption, which in turn reduces pollution. And that is not the only way I become less of a polluter.
With so much of concern for underpopulated world, Mr. Musk still has plans for space instead of improving the living conditions of populated world such that more people start helping him to populate the world. He could have spared money from his pet space project to ensure that a poor American girl who goes to collect recyclable material and swallows her saliva when hungry, gets food.
Whatever...denying childless people right to vote is beyond my comprehension.
People don't have to have children to care for them and be concerned about their future. More than concern, it is a guilt too...because my excessive consumerism may have led to things going out of reach for such kids and their families.
As to social security issue....lay the cards on the table. Let the contributors decide how they can recover and how much if at all, they are willing to forego or defer.
Because the social security issue will not go away with more children working and contributing taxes. Not everybody earns taxable income, and jobs are hard to come by in many cases. Then there is job insecurity too, with rapidly advancing technologies. That is the reality.
He may believe in more children, does that mean others have no right to their feelings about population? Who is he anyway...
I am afraid, Indian government will take a cue from this man. We tend to be so unoriginal from the last so many centuries.

Some people do not deserve to be parents. One such case is Mr. Musk. Imagine to have his children be taught with his values!!!

@vandana7 I donĀ“t think that it is even worth it to talk about what Musk says. He is wicked.

Really....so Christ too didn't have kids, and most of the nuns don't have kids...unmarried girls don't have kids...unmarried men don't have kids, those who are doing family planning because they have mortgage to pay off may not have kids. Are all these people not eligible to vote? Silly stuff.

I pay taxes and therefore have a right to what goes on in schools, etc. We are childless by choice and certainly are entitled to vote. What an idiot. Enjoy your day.

I think by ensuring we don't have children, we have spared our kids so many problems that we faced and many others are facing. We have also ensured less competition for jobs and education. We have ensured that the bread is not eaten away by our kids. That single bread each meal maybe filling somebody else's tummy.
We did this despite the fact that children can be an insurance for old age, they would look after parents. We took a risk which benefits others and their kids. We should be appreciated instead of being cussed. We pay more taxes because we cannot distribute our income across family. Why then should we be denied the right to vote...that man makes me mad...I want to throw a raw egg on his face.

@LindaOHio I agree. Even in traditional Indian world, parents are not being looked after by children. For every 1 child who looks after parents there is 1 who does not or is looking after parents in a way that is insufficient.

@vandana7 We regret not having kids to look after us; but who says they would do that anyway? Kids today have their own lives to live. It isn't like it was 50 or 60 years ago.

His meeting with the Indian Government was purely business.
Electric cars from Tesla would sell at a high premium in India, inviting both black n white money !!
And the way he handled the Twitter takeover, I don't expect any emotions from him.

He might be trying to tell something or not.
Yet the way he took over Twitter, laid off so many and did reckless changes there, I don't expect him to be very rational or considerate towards anyone.

I agree. There should be proportionate representation in the parliament. I find all parliamentarians too rich to understand the plight of the poor. 50 INR is enough to feed a human being for one meal plus out here. That is less than a dollar. Politicians spend more than that on many silly things....that are absolutely unnecessary. Musk is no different.

So, Mr. Musk is saying that childless people can't contribute valuable perspectives and ideas to society?
