Stress and worry has started taking a toll it seems. I forget to eat on a good day. And then worrying about my cat Brendel just adds to that forgetfulness.
Have been eating jello, plain rice and toast for the past few days. Still had the headache, nausea and fatigue.
My doctor suspected dehydration and recommended this "IV In a Bottle" for a few days. Biolyte has the same amount of electrolytes as a 500ml Lactated Ringer (IV bag). Without the ER visit of course. It has vitamins and minerals that help headaches, nausea, and fatigue associated with dehydration. This hydration drink helps the liver get rid of toxins and function at peak capacity.
Just started drinking this today, so wish me luck. Even though this one says Berry flavored, not a good taste at all. But I am willing to drink it to feel better.
Brendel seems about the same. She still gets up all hours of the night and early morning, yowling and confused. But some nights she sleeps until 3-4 am. That is a slight improvement. And she sleeps in the screen room most all day. I can also tell she still recognizes me, I will take that as a blessing. A day at a time.
Thank you so much to those who have messaged to ask about Brendel. Means the world to hear from my friends when I am away.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well; but I"m glad to see you here. Wanted to ask how you and Brendel were but didn't want to interfere. I'm so sorry to hear that Brendel is still having problems. Praying for both of you.

@CarolDM No sleep does make us feel weak. I am not trying to promote any religion or belief here...but I find my mind calms down considerably when I listen to this. It is the notes or sequence or instrument resonating in the background...whatever...but I start feeling calmer. Does it lead to sleep? I haven't tried. Kinda...I fear falling asleep when people talk about sharks. So I don't really know...I avoid sleeping by doing something or the other then. You don't have to watch it. Or even listen to it...beyond a few moments of continuous listening...try for 10 to 15 minutes. If it works ...it works. If it does not....stop. There maybe similar music or notes sequences even in western music. Perhaps you would like to check them out for identifying with it. I would have liked it to be slightly slower. Do check it - it does give me some relief.
I believe music can be used to cure some of our problems.

@vandana7 Thank you Vanny. How thoughtful. I too believe in meditation and music. It heals our souls. I appreciate the link very much. My problem now is I have to be half awake through the night listening for her, she sleeps in a chair beside my bed and I hear every move. Sort of like a mother with a sick baby, exactly how it is actually. Which is how I need it right now. But I can use this link for during the day to rest. So important.

How long do cats with Alzheimer’s go on for? My grandmother has it about 10 years and my aunt around 4 so I’m wondering since I just learned recently from you that cats can get Alzheimer’s too.
I am sorry you are having such a hard time over this. How old is Brendel now? It would be so much easier if they could all just be healthy until the end and go in their sleep. Pets sure don’t live long enough.
I think the drink your doctor recommended is a really good idea for you right now. I hope it isn’t too costly and that it will help! Sorry it doesn’t taste better .

I am sorry you are not feeling well and I hope that Biolyte will help you return to normal, The hot and humid weather makes me eat less but I also drink a lot of iced tea and just plain cold water. I am keeping Brendel in my prayers and give that sweet baby a hug from the crazy cat lady,

Oh, Carol, please take care of yourself. I am sorry Brendel isn't a lot better, but even a slight improvement is better than none at all. I am sorry the IV drink is not tasty. Some of those electrolyte drink things just don't taste very good to me, either.

I get dehydrated fairly easily here in Florida, and I will often drink a Biolyte to help. They are good drinks in that respect, but the taste leaves a lot to be desired. I hope you are able to overcome your effects of dehydration.

@TheHorse Watching my cat that has dementia slowly pass away without anything I can do but keep her comfortable is the diagnosis. No doctor needed for that one. I know all about stress over the years, losing my son and other loved ones, etc.

I hope this beverage helps. I know you are stressed. I am glad the doctor did not add a trip to the ER as one more stressor for you.

Stress is known to cause a huge amount of problems for our physical wellbeing, but it is so hard to be stress free in these times. So sorry to hear that you are not feeling well, and Brendel, prayers going up for both of you. Cats and dogs really should not have the same illnesses we humans get - they can't talk about how they are feeling.
