I waited for Wednesday.

Another day is done. It feels like I'm just starting the week with actual work. Alfie and son have gone back to their home in Manila. I wanted to take a break from cooking for everyone so I just ordered a Wendy's Fambox (burgers, fries and iced tea) for me and my girls at suppertime. The three of us are sick of eating rice . Our guests were voracious rice eaters so I had to cook full meals at least twice a day for 4 days. Whew. I had to make sure that Alfie ate properly and on time because she's 7 months pregnant and about to issue another boy -- a third boy.
As soon as they left, I started scrubbing and disinfecting the toilet bowls. I vacuumed, swept and mopped the floors and sprayed disinfectant all over the house. I often feel the compulsion to clean and sanitize after receiving visitors, more so if they'd stayed here for a few days and used our toilets, beddings, utensils, etc. I hope no one judges me for being too particular (OC, if you may) about hygiene and all. I do love having other people come to this house; I just don't like it when the toilet becomes grimy and smelly due to frequent fecal release, or when the sofa and dining chairs smell of someone's sweaty bum. I make sure to NOT clean too much while they're here though 'cause that would be rude.
There won't be any more cleaning after I post this discussion. I'll be heading to bed in about an hour. I'm done ironing my husband's work clothes for tomorrow. He's currently on a long bus ride from Naga to Manila and will be here at the break of dawn.
I'll just watch a few more stuff on YouTube then off to bed I go. G'night, all!

@almostoveryou - My guests are very clean, but I can smell their scents and I want to get rid of this once they are gone.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I was able to eliminate the smell by midnight, thanks to some disinfectant spray and a diffuser with peppermint oil.

I always clean after guests leave, no matter how well I cleaned before they arrived. You aren't unusual in that respect. (My mom did the same thing.)
I hope you and your family have gotten some good rest and are enjoying your hubby being home again.

@almostoveryou Just don't tell them you cleaned and sanitized. It isn't their business what you do in your house.
Oh, that's too bad. I hope he has time to spend with you when he gets home today.

Good to know there's many out there who do the same. Some people here tend to take offense when they hear that you cleaned and *sanitized* the house as soon as they left.
My husband got home at 7 a.m. Ate a bit of breakfast and then left for work right away.

@DaddyEvil We might go to a grocery when he comes home today (in about 2 hours). Tomorrow, Friday, the whole family will drive to the capital to bring stuff into the new flat then we'll head back to our province to have dinner with my sister who's flying back to Calgary on Saturday morning. We'll probably spend the weekend doing laundry, tidying up and pumping rainwater out of the blasted basement.

I find the older I get the more germaphobic I get. I even will wipe my hand with a sanitized wipe after I shake hands with someone (after they leave). Enjoy your day.
