There are a few flowers that are not only used to colour foods but they are also edible having some heath properties.
I have interest in the butterfly pea flowers that are currently growing in my garden that have the indigo colour
I have seen blue coloured noodles that have been prepared using this flower and I am planning on creating some dessert once I have enough of those blooming in our garden
Have you at any time eaten or used any flowers in salads and desserts? There are quite a few

I did suck some hibiscus some few years ago it had a great sour to sweet taste. I'm not sure if it can be used to color food

In this case it could perhaps add colour to the salad without colouring the foods

I saw one Mylotter mentioned she used flowers in her garden for a cake, but I don't remember who it was. I wouldn't know how to do it myself, but I look forward to some day seeing what your results will be like. I just can't get enough of the indigo color.

I have several vines coming up and in a few months my garden hopefully will be painted indigo and when that happens I promise there will be an indigo dish prepared by me. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I have always used colours not knowing if they are artificial or produced using fruits and flowers.

I've never eaten any flowers, except drinking some flower tea.

I never heard that flowers can be used in place of food colour. Have you ever tried it?
