Where did all that rice go?

It's 7:53 pm and the heavy rains are still upon us. We're safe where we are but other parts of Luzon are in bad condition. There have been flooding and landslides, damaged crops and properties and all. It's usual news during typhoon season in my country and, in cases like this, the least that we can hope for is zero casualty. The husband has been working from home since Monday. He does a lot of online meetings during the day and runs a few errands in between. He finally got to call his bank's hotline this afternoon and inform them that he will be using his debit and credit cards during our trip to Taiwan. (We fly on Friday night and return home on Monday morning.) I have informed my bank about this matter too via email and they have replied to me, but I might have to call the hotline too just to be sure. I have also done the eTravel registration as required by the government. I hope I got all the passport numbers right as my eyesight isn't always trustworthy when it comes to these things. We got our QR codes via email. I just need to print the boarding passes later. Tonight's dinner was a medley of breakfast items and side dishes: longganisa (native pork sausages), tinapa (smoked fish), salted duck egg salad, seasoned chives, and pickled radish. My eldest cooked 3 cups of rice and all of it was gone in less than an hour. The salted duck egg salad always makes the girls dig for more. For dessert, we had haw flakes from Daiso. They taste kinda different from the haw flakes of my childhood. They're probably made from another fruit or something. How is everything on your end?

It is still also raining here. but I am glad that the winds stopped a bit. It was a horrible night last night listening to the howling wind and the heavy downpour. I just watching the evening news and it was sad. climate change is real.

Every food you named (other than rice) is unfamiliar, yet I want to try them all! I really hope you have an awesome trip.

It's unfortunate to hear about the rainy season . Safety is always top priority during typhoon season

Some regions have been inundated. It's sad news. Lots of rains lately due to southwest monsoon.
