Did you know that it's actually considered an insult to give a tip in Iceland? Keep this in mind if you ever travel there. Do you know of other places where tipping is considered to be insulting??

The world is just crazy. I think its insulting too to expect to us give tips everytime.

... like at Starbucks, where you've just paid $5 for a coffee and are encouraged to tip the 'barista'!

Wow, I never knew that. Interesting information. Think it's true? Where did you hear it? I don't think I've ever heard about tipping being insulting anywhere.

I have heard that it is also rude to tip in Japan. And that when you eat at someone's house, that you should always leave just one bite. It is supposed to signify that the food was good, and that they have given you enough.

I don't, but I once read a book for businesspeople on customs to be aware of around the world. In some places crossing your legs or NOT kissing someone on the cheek are considered insulting. Good stuff to know before going off to close that big business deal in another country.
