A dog too big to sit on a lap

We were away overnight at a horse endurance ride. We don’t ride but we take photos of the riders and their horses. We take our caravan and stay in that. There is no room at our village for a caravan and we keep it at a friend’s place. At the moment, he also has his son’s dog to look after – the one in the photo.
Isn’t he a big dog? He looks to have something wrong with his eye but I didn’t notice anything when I took the photo. He knocked me over once when he was young and boisterous but he is really very gentle. I can’t remember his name. I’ll have to let you know another time.
Edit: I remember now that h has one yellow and one blue eye which is why they look a bit funny.

He looks big and cuddly since he is not as boisterous anymore. I see what you mean about the eye but maybe it is just a shadow.

@TheHorse @GardenGerty When I enlarged the photo and could see the eye better, I remembered that eye is blue. You can see it when the image is larger.

@Treborika Sometimes a dog will have odd-coloured eyes. I don't know why it happens.

Interesting..you don't see too many white labs around.

@JudyEv He looks alot like a lab to me. Pitbulls are usually quite muscular.

@Treborika Yes. He would weigh a goodly amount.

He's big to be a lap dog. He reminds me of our Belgian Malinois, Sam. He thinks he's a lapdog. He's the sweetest. Never aggressive.

@JudyEv Not a belgian malinois. Their temperament isn't good at all but our Sam is an exception. I remember my nanny was attacked by a Belgian malinois while she was giving my Danie, a bichon frise, a walk. They were both attacked. Danie was the target. She protected Danie and got bitten. The irresponsible owner left their gate open while their dog was roaming in their yard.

@toniganzon Those big breeds can do a lot of damage if they decide to attack.

He mostly gets to do that. Being the size he is, he would be off-putting to burglars too.

Big dogs like that think they are still lap dogs. Drive safely and have a good weekend.

I'm not sure. Maybe he just thinks nobody loves him.

He looks like a pit bull. They are big dogs with big personalities.
