I don't read or watch the news anyway so for me it's a relief not to have to scroll past these news headlines in my feed, but for some reason I still think it's wrong to withhold the headlines that are supposed to matter from reaching a wider audience. What do you think?

@Starmaiden I read that the social media sites were offered the choice between better moderating the news posts to weed out the fake news and misinformation or stop posting any news at all. The companies decided it would be cheaper to stop posting news. They make too much money off the fake news that spews from the right wing.

I'm hoping it's nothing more than trying to stop the circulation of satirical, tabloid and fake news. Canada has its own share of fake news headlines.
