It's 3 weeks until my kids go back to school. Hard to believe that it's slowly creeping up on us.
My kids will be starting grades 6, 5, and 3. It's also hard to believe that this is my eldest's last year of elementary school before she goes off to high school. Feels like not too long ago we were taking her to her first day of kindergarten. Where the heck did the time go??
I feel like I'm going to have a hard time this year with that thought in the back of my mind.

I understand how you feel. It seems that I turned around and my son was 30.

Time does fly with kids. It seems your youngest was just starting kindergarten.

@dodo19 I don't think anyone ever does. Are you and the kids looking forward to it?

@kaylachan They are looking for it. I am too as it'll give them something to do, but it will be a bit emotional as it's my eldest's last year. But it'll be good

My kids are all grown but I have granddkids. Three are in regular schools. The rest are either homeschooled or already graduated. I'm going with my son today to school shop. It will be easier since they are on a trip with their mom. It will be a few days before school to get the clothing since one of my granddaughters have sprouted taller and lost weight. Pre teen.

Kids grow so fast. I tell moms all the time to take plenty of pictures because as cute as they are in one stage it won't last.

The days whiz by so fast, you can hardly catch them! I understand how you feel about your eldest going off to high school. It's a tough realization! Enjoy your day.

My kids have already been on summer break now for just over 3 weeks and they have just over 3 weeks left. I worked it out and it turns out that they have just one day shy of 7 weeks off which is a long time.
I feel myself that the summer break should be shortened and the Christmas one made longer as I do not feel they get enough time at Christmas.

@dodo19 I only wish they would listen but nothing at the moment. The summer break always feels way too long and they tend to get bored not even halfway through but with Christmas, they are not ready to go back yet so would make a lot of sense.

As my sister and I got older my mom got more sentimental, while my dad got happier we were closer to being out of the house. You can imagine my dad’s excitement, and my mom’s tears when my sister and I decided to go to college when we were sixteen.
Are your kids excited, or dreading it? I looked forward to seeing my friends, but didn’t look forward to having to sit and pay attention.

Time flies indeed. My son's new semester in his university will start next week. I would miss not having him at home the whole day.

The private school I just retired from started teacher workdays this week and students come back on Monday, two weeks before the public schools start.
Even though I retired at the end of the last school year, I didn't feel retired until this past Monday when my former colleagues went back to work and I was here camping on the lake. Now, I feel retired.
