About a month ago I called the Veterinarian and set an appointment for Beau Teak Siamese. He has an awful and chronic mouth issue. The Vet's receptionist set the day for today. She mentioned that she had just started working there.
I drove about twenty minutes on the freeway and walked into the Vet clinic, hungry Beau Teak in his carrier with me. The receptionist asked if I was Chloe. I said no I was not and neither was my cat unless he had changed his sex. She then told me that she had no idea why we were there!!! I answered that I'd made an appointment about a month ago for a dental. She finally went into the back and conferred with folks.
Beau got to stay. Poor Beau will most likely have several healthy teeth extracted. Supposedly once the teeth are gone, the gums will no longer get infected and filled with bacteria. Problem solved. Praying that will be the case.
He will be ready to go home this afternoon. I never sleep well so I am quite tired. I will pay extra and go get him tomorrow- dealing with huge semis on the freeway tomorrow sounds much friendler to me. The Doc did call me after I got home so that we could have a chat about Beau. I really like that he personally calls me and tells me what is going on. So we wait for news on the exact specifics of his dental surgery.

@kaylachan Thank you very much. I wonder if the Vet canned that receptionist? If she goofed my appointment time she could have goofed others. That really would mess up the Vet and his helper's days.

@sallypup She could've, but it could've been an honest mistake, too. We've been going to the same vet for years, and we make regular appointments for our cat, Chilly. Despite knowing Chilly, the vet tech mistook me for someone else.

Hope Beau Teak's gums are okay. Sounds like you have a good vet there.

I've had that happen before with my senior kitty. Before I moved to the PNW, I made an appt with a new vet since I had moved from another town and the new person never logged it. The vet worked her in thankfully. She is prone to megacolon and liver issues. I'm glad you got to help your kitty and he will be healthier from now on.

Poor Beau Teak Siamese. I hope he's not in a lot of pain and recovers quickly and that solves his mouth problem. I'm glad the vet called you to bring you up to date.
