Day 31
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Do you have a pure heart? On the surface, no one has a pure heart. People think bad thoughts, harbor things against people, lie, cheat, and do all manner of things that disqualify them from being pure.
Yet Jesus said only the pure in heart will see God. Where is your hope?
As Christians, your hope is in your salvation, but does it give you a pure heart?
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?
10 I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.
Even Paul said everyone falls short of God’s glory.
Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.
For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
How do we obtain a pure heart?
Romans 3:20 Therefore, by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Only through faith can we obtain a pure heart.
Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.
29 Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, 30 since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.
31 Do we then void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.
When you accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, you ask God’s forgiveness for all past sins. Your confession cleanses you from sin and purifies your heart. How then do you maintain a pure heart since no one is without sin?
1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
Only by confession and faith can we purify our lives so that we will see God.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. (NKJV)
A pure life before God takes confession and faith. Everyone sins. You cannot get away from it. But you have a way out through confession. When you confess your sins with the motivation of true repentance, God will forgive you. Then when He sees you, He sees a person free of sin. Remember, it is God who searches your mind and heart to know if your repentance is real.
2 Chronicles 7:12 Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Psalm 15:1 (A Psalm of David.) LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
2 He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart; 3 he who does not backbite with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor does he take up a reproach against his friend; 4 in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but he honors those who fear the LORD; he who swears to his own hurt and does not change; 5 he who does not put out his money at usury, nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be moved.
Only those who live a life of integrity before God, confessing their sin, and turning from the wickedness of their hearts, will see God when they pass from this life to the next.
Let’s pray: Father, I am a sinner. I know that without Your grace and mercy in my life, I have no hope of eternal life with You. Purify my heart and mind when I confess my sins with a sincere heart of repentance. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

None of us is without sin. I hope God can forgive all of us that are repentant. Have a blessed day.
