Two very different movies

So, anyway I got a chance to watch the movie that won 7 awards including best picture last year. Everything, Everywhere, all at Once. That movie was really novel and creative. I liked the mostly Asian cast. What really wowed me though was how many costume changes Michelle Yeoh who won best actress must have gone through. She must have spent entire days changing clothes for various scenes. I think she should have won just for that. The plot really wasn't terribly clear, but it was enjoyable and entertaining...as well as a bit educational.
The other one was Ticket to Paradise which largely takes place in Bali, and stars favorites George Clooney and Julia Roberts once again a formerly married couple. They are kind of like the late Alan Rickman and still living Emma Thompson of British cinema in that they are always being paired together. . Anyway, Ticket is fairly predictable and no big surprises, but it is awesome to see Bali...and learn a bit about their traditions. Have you seen any enjoyable movies lately?

@RubyHawk They are good at their craft. Clooney hasn't really had a meaty role for awhile though.

The one with Michelle Yeoh really interests me because yes, you don’t usually get almost all Asian casts, plus the kid who was in Goonies is in the movie, and I loved him.
I saw “Roll With It” with Christian comedian, Chonda Pierce, and I cannot recommend it enough. People see Christian, and are turned off, but really, it’s for anyone who just believes in God. It’s hilarious, and I was glad the theater was packed. I just don’t know where to find it on a streaming site. I loved the movie, but I fell in love with the backdrop of North Carolina too. It was prettier than I remember.

That sounds familiar but I definitely haven't seen it. I would like to see the Jesus Revolution though.

Unfortunately we didn't care much for either movie. Everything, Everywhere was very disjointed; and I couldn't find a plot. Ticket to Paradise was OK but disappointing. No, we haven't seen any good movies lately. We tend to watch older movies. Have a good day.

You are right about Everything...but it gets lots of points of novelty. Ticket wasn't exactly great cinema, but a nice summer flick I guess.

@LindaOHio Different strokes for different folks.... I liked it, but it was hard to follow. I think they were definitely more about their cool special effects than the plot..although there were plot elements woven into it.

@snowy22315 I feel so guilty for not liking Everything. It won Academy Awards, it's rated very high; and so many people liked it. What's wrong with us? lololol

I didn't see Everything Everywhere but all those costumes sound interesting.
I did see Ticket to Paradise and it was a fun watch.

It was cute..and likable..not really what I would describe as good...but highly watchable escapist entertainment.

It really would have been enough just for them to be friends at the end.
