My daughter and I had a planned day of just doing a few things we wanted to do together today. Bookstore, Target, dinner, visiting, and hanging out together.
Then this heat wave hit us so hard. She and I both don't feel so good. I have this leg infection issue along with an inflamed rotator cuff that wants to throb like it has it's own heartbeat. The heat is so bad, it makes it tough to even breathe outside. Son and I are staying in today, and enjoying the AC. We have enough to eat, cold drinks, and it's just too horribly hot to even consider going anywhere we don't have to go.
We decided to wait until maybe Saturday to have our wild day of fun. (wild, haha!) It's supposed to be cooler.

I hope the weather will be cooler for you on Saturday.
We're also under the extreme heat warning here. It was 106F yesterday afternoon with a RealFeel of 123F. Pretty was able to change her afternoon doctor appointment to 8:30 am. It was "only" 79F by the time we left the doctor's office to come home.

@MarieCoyle Our yard is getting tall again but it's too hot outside for us to mow it. (We keep trying to go out early in the morning to mow but the grass has been sopping wet until well into the afternoon when it's too hot to go outside.)
The old guy next door mows his yard even in the rain or snow but we can't. If our mower battery gets damp, that's well over $100 for a new battery and $500 if the mower itself shorts out. We can't afford that.
I had an early morning doctor appointment. The blood test that was done last week showed that my thyroid is acting up again so I had to start taking the hyperthyroidism pills again today.
It's always something.

It truly is always something. Just when we pretty much finish with one hurdle, get ready, the other one is on the way. As long as we can still get over the hurdles, we're good.

We had our heat wave last week. I went to my son's large house to stay with my cat for the week. I'm back in my trailer and today is supposed to stay in the 80's. It reached 109 several days last week. We've had a lot of smoke and then a surprise rain came very early and helped clear some. I hope it stays this way.

We have had our share this year of the wildfire smoke, as well. It really makes for a lot of misery. I feel so sorry for those people who have had to evacuate or lost their homes, or cannot safely go home at all.
I do know from past camping that those trailers can heat up like an oven if you have to park in the hot sun. I hope it stays cooler for you, Loretta.

@MarieCoyle Thank you. Today, I am able to open my window and door for a bit. The small amount of rain helped with the smoke though it shows will come back. I have a good AC and could have braved it but not my kitty. When it was 109 outside it was 85 inside. My son told me last night to come back there for a few days while the smoke is bad but hauling her litter box etc is hard. I'll pick up a purifier from him today.

Maybe you can get another litter box and supplies and leave it at his house? That way you can go that way with no worries if you need to, and it won't be hard.
My daughter and son in law have decided that dear ol' mom has to have an air purifier as well, I tried to argue that it was an expense and they didn't have to do that, but my objections fell on deaf ears. Kids...gotta love them!

I feel sorry for those who are suffering through this terrible heat and humidity.
We have been enjoying lovely weather during August, some days it is cool, especially in the mornings and evenings.
I keep the windows open during the day and the a/c turned off.

I looked at the weather for next week this morning, and although it is just a bit less hot, it's still going to be very warm outside.

I just don't do well at all in these extremely hot temps. Add in the incredible humidity that has arrived with it, and it's just miserable.
I went outside for about 3 minutes, to wheel my trash can, and Pete, my neighbor's trash can, back out off the sidewalk. Pete just had some surgery, so I took his out last night when I took mine, and I rolled it back. That was plenty long enough to be out there, I'm hopefully done with any outside at all today.

Very wise to stay out of the heat. Are you considering surgery for your rotator cuff? I had it done several years ago. Praying your leg will be well soon.

I am hoping to hold off on any surgery if at all possible, I don't see how I can help my son get well if I need help, too. Kind of a snarl...time will tell. And I thank you so very much, I appreciate the prayers, Vicki.

Today when I opened the door for the Meals on Wheels guy, I was surprised how cool it is. Tomorrow it's supposed to heat up and rain. I hope you and your daughter feel better. Stay cool and have a good day.
