The evil eye sounds like it is something from an old gypsy movie, but maybe people can curse other people or objects. One of those history shows on TV was showing a chair hanging over a bar somewhere in the UK. I don't remember the exact circumstances around it...but it was said that whomever sat in the chair would die...and it was proven to be true many times over. Within a few days whoever sat in that chair...would die. It happened repeatedly. Today it is hanging and no one is allowed to sit in it. I imagine it is quite the conversation piece. I hope no one ever gets drunk decides to sit in it...and whamo! Do you believe in curses?

And maybe more importantly, there is power of suggestion. The human mind is a very powerful thing and if we really think something is going to happen, it really can.

@Dena91 Yes, but by the same token it certainly doesn't mean evil doesn't exist in the world and may be harnessed by individuals to hurt others unfortunately.

No I don't. I do like the "evil eye" bracelets and medallion I've gotten from Mexico. My former supervisor and I did NOT get along. I kept an evil eye medallion in my classroom hanging on the board. I'd wear one of my bracelets whenever I had to meet with him. I didn't think they would actually protect me from anything but it got the message across about how I felt about him. He also is super Catholic so I'm sure he was offended by it.

@Juliaacv I have been known to flip the bird. Usually I only do that though if someone has been exceptionally rude to me first.

@snowy22315 I usually resort to waving a fist at people, right after I give them my stink eye.
I don't use the horn because it can be considered road rage, and other drivers would be more apt to hear it and then see too much.
The road rage laws are strange here.

@snowy22315 This is what I think and some people are very good to make people believe that they can do something wrong to them.

No, but I like hearing about stuff like that. Normally, if you check actual records, nothing is found.

@snowy22315 Aliens building the pyramids is well-document, too, depending on who you want to believe.

There are people here who supposedly cast spells..but I never knew anyone who tried it. Voodoo is practiced in some circles around New Orleans and parts of Florida too.

Wouldn't that be karma? A nemesis here means an enemy.

I don’t really think much of them, but I probably wouldn’t intentionally sit in that chair.

I do and I don't since there has been no actual proof about curses but that does not mean I would not worry if someone put one on me,

Have you seen someone's life negatively affected by a curse? One that you know was put on the person.

@snowy22315 never saw that or heard about that and that is why I say there is no proof so I don't know about believing in curses,
