California Needs More Hurricanes

It was so nice here. I was a bit worried because they were saying some places may get a inch of rain an hour. I was not worried about the wind. Santa Ana's are no joke, and some times can bring gusts of wind over 80 miles per hour winds at any random time. Our house is higher up so never floods, but I was thinking our yard might because all dried concrete dirt and my room is only room in house that is on the floor. I think we got about a inch in a half of rain here according to my brother. Once, I knew we were good here , it was so nice/. 75 in August, never felt that before here. It rarely lets a drop of rain in August. Then the next day it cleared up and and no smog or dust and the few days after was in low 80s and looked how California was supposed to look if no people were ever here. Now its starting to get hot and smoggy again and I want more Hilary's to visit. They said Hilary's are evil, but I thought she was nice and had a nice enthusiastic hello. She knew you guys not used to my energy, so I will take it easy on you and just clean up the mess a bit you humans make. You go Girl!

HAHA, how funny. Yes you are very nice and please stop by again, some places got hit pretty hard but heard they jerks anyway. Just kidding, everything is always a blessing for some and a nightmare for others. A nice balance is always needed.

@hillhjill I am not sure about hurricanes, but think this is like the 4th tropical storm ever recorded to hit California and this was the first ever they actually gave warning about, so was kind of a history making there. Hurricanes just die over our cold ocean but have had Tropical storms and the last one was 1939, but weather was not like it is now so they could not warn those people.

@crossbones27 I read that you guys in California haven't seen a hurricane in years, and I will do my best to stop by again and clear up the air for ya...

I know it wasn't so great for some areas - but yah, it turned out to be not as bad as we thought it would be (but good!). Here, it was non-stop rain (not heavy . . . and when it was light, the clay dirt just absorbed it). The wind just never really picked up. I was mostly worried about our huge ash tree, but nothing happened. The rest was the week was nice - crazy how like nothing ever happened. It wasn't that long ago either, but now we're in the triples again . . . I think the other coast is getting the hurricanes now .

@crossbones27 We were thinking how does their insurance cover all this destruction, over and over again? Here, I'd think they'd boot us out of insurance if we had to rebuild every year like that. Yah, we did have a break in the rain too at night - and there was some wind but we were all asleep by then. Usually the mountain areas do have a different story . . . out here, the winds seem to be way stronger too. A desert plant turned over? Well I'm glad it didn't float away in same massive flash flood or mudflow . . . that small little guy stayed brave .

@much2say Yeah, I am not sure how Floridians in some spots do that every year. Work that hard and then all that work can be destroyed at anytime in any given year. Life is stressful enough, but yeah here, was a nice change of pace. It did get windy here for three hours about 9 pm to midnight but kind of weak even for gusts compared to the Santa Anna's. Rain was non stop but we had a 2 hour break up and then when the winds hit, it just stopped raining all together. Our Mountains do strange thing to what weather forecasters originally forecast. I am glad you guys all good. Fun fact, I think I saw one desert plant turned over from our hurricane. It was so small. I go that is hurricane damage right there.

Right, or just my sedistic mind. Haha. I was watching a guy from LA stream online and LA barely got hit. Was not really windy and seemed they had way less rain than what we were getting at same time. These times are so interesting how you can just compare things like that.

Yeah, and short rains sucks, we actually had a couple of those before tropical storm, and all it does it make it hot and HUMID. Either rain where it cools it down or do not rain at all, but here we need all the rain we can get so cannot really be mad. I hope you get a good rain where it cools things down so you guys can breathe again.

Hurricanes in Canada, that just not right. Hurricanes in cold lands, no thank you. I hate winter storms here because California supposed to be warm. Storms make it cold and I hate cold.

@crossbones27 I live in Atlantic Canada and we get hurricanes every year. Usually the tail ends of the ones that hit Florida and other states on the eastern seaboard.
