What You’re Willing To Do For A Survey

A lot of us do surveys to make extra money, and we have varying degrees of success. I was wondering what your limit is for the survey takers here (whether online or offline). Last night I discovered I will watch a 45 minute documentary on hip hop music for $3.50, even if it bores me to tears. Yes, I do like some hip hop, but this was boring. I also found out I will turn down a $150 Amazon gift card in exchange for an app to track my facial expressions as I use my phone. Uh, no. What about you guys? Do you non online survey takers ever fill out the surveys on the receipts from places like Walgreens for the chance to win money?

I probably would have gone for the Amazon giftcard one. Was that on Vine? I could do alot with that cash. The documentary too..would be OK. I just don't like ones that are long for little money, plus always the chance you could be disqualified so there you are losing out. I only like sites where the disqualifications are minimal. Who has time for that?

No, the tracking app was through Mypoints, and the hip hop documentary was through SurveyJunkie. But when I watched the documentary, I already knew they weren’t going to disqualify me because they actually said I had officially qualified, and would get credit. Because you’re right, if I have no guarantee I won’t be disqualified, I am not wasting my time on a maybe!

@AmbiePam I might check that out. I rarely use any survey sites that are just general run of the mill sites..is they are too frustrating, I have a couple I like and that is all I use 90 percent of the time.

@snowy22315 I have been qualifying for the MyPoints surveys left and right lately for some reason. You can also shop through them for points, but I use Rakuten for that. Are you a Rakuten member? It’s been useful for me, but for others they are mainly Amazon shoppers, and you don’t get money back for Amazon purchases unless it’s like electronics. I got money back from Temu when I still shopped there, and also when I ordered from Walmart online.

I have stopped working on surveys a long time ago as putting down the same info over and over again is boring

I started to turn into a smart aleck when I answered some of the same ones over and over again. When they’d ask me an open ended question to see if you are real or a robot, but it didn’t factor into the actual survey, I’d get very creative in what I said. I couldn’t take the nonsense anymore.

I will not allow any survey company to track my phone or to track my eyes on my laptop. But I will do surveys from a receipt on items that I just bought for the chance to win a gift card.

I did a survey based on my medical problems that had me looking up "fixes" for the problems online every few days for a month for $189 but don't think I'll be doing that again even if they offer, which I've been told they will offer... Not only were they tracking my phone usage but they also sold my email address to who knows how many other companies. I am still getting spam email from places they sold my email address to. *sigh*

My sister did one years ago for $250, but that was before everyone had cell phones. The lucky duck!

@AmbiePam No doubt! My phone blocks spam but my email can't. I've spent four months blocking all kinds of weird companies.

I have more than enough survey sites and I take a round of as many as I can each morning. However, if I am on a site and after 3-4 surveys I have not gotten any money I go on to the next survey site. Eventually, I do get to cash out or request a gift card,

I don't even bother with trying to qualify for online surveys any longer. I never meet the requirements. I suspect it is my income range.

Do you buy luxury brands like Gucci or Versace? Because I get some surveys about those kind of brands, and I’m like, people who can afford that are taking surveys?!

@AmbiePam No I don't. I have brand new purses (Coach) and a Louis Vuitton wallet that I haven't even used. My mother gave me a Michael Kors purse a couple of years ago and I've been using that day in and day out. The fact that she keeps buying me those types of things shows that she truly doesn't know me. Like if you are going to spend that kind of $$ on me, make it Le Creuset.

I know some of those surveys are not worth it to me..so invasive. It depends on the day and what it is for me Ambie.

i agree with you, nope you may not have my thumb/finger print or my face. If they get to specific about me, I won't do them. Asking what car or appliance I have is fine. shopping habits is fine too.

I'm not a survey taker but I agree with you about passing up $150 in exchange for an app to track your facial expressions. But I would probably suffer through 45 min of hip hop for $3.50

When a survey site asks me to reveal who I look like, I just tell them no since I do not have a webcam to use at all. I will do political surveys though.

I probably would have done the Amazon gift card one, even though that is iffy. If you could have the video on in the background I might have done the hip hop one. I have done a survey for $20 where I had to record what radio stations I listened to for a week, other than that it has just been normal surveys

They did ask some questions about the hip hop video where they would be able to tell if you were watching it. I hate when they do that.

Tried doing them but was not successful. Most times they send the notifications to take part in the survey and am not available. Other times I try surveys but I don't qualify.

I do surveys from kroger.com to earn 50 fuel points. No risk, all about the store experience. No, I do not do facial recognition and mapping in surveys. I would have done the documentary, though.

I did a survey this morning while on my first cup of coffee. It asked me for my opinions on Ford, Volvo, CBS, ABC, and a bunch of products I've never heard of. I made something like fifty cents. Whee!

I use to do surveys but grew tired of being disqualified after spending time on them. So there isn't anything they could offer me to get me to go back and do one. Mike does one every once in awhile.

I used to belong to dozens of survey sites; but as I got older, I didn't qualify for surveys or focus groups anymore. Now I have a handful of sites that I deal with, including some focus group sites that are looking for people with certain health conditions. I do pretty well with those. Yes, I will fill out surveys from receipts; but I've never won anything. Have a great day.

I've tried surveys before but usually it lets me spend 15 -20 minutes per survey and THEN it tells me that I'm not in the right category. have had it happen multiple sites. I think that way they can get my answers and then not pay me for them. Gr.

Yes, I definitely understand that. That is why I quit doing surveys for years. When I started back up, I decided to only do survey sites that refrained from that, and I found a couple. Two in particular reward you even when you are disqualified. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to mess with them again.

Nothing anymore.. "You do not qualify for this" after answering a bunch of questions a few different times. If I knew more sites like this, I would be all over it.
