Summer or Wiinter?

There's no one that would dispute that the summer in the United States this year was brutal and challenging. Intense heat, storms, mudslides, wildfires...we had a lot of many different things. I know that a lot of you are tired of the heat and are looking forward to the fall and winter. I like the cooler and crisp fall temperatures; but I DO NOT care for the winter that will follow. Most of you know that I would be willing to put up with the heat and humidity if we could move to the Florida Keys. How about you? If you had to make a choice, would you choose summer or winter? Why? You'd love the southwest cuz mostly we get a few days or in bad years a few weeks of icy cold but icy cold to me is when it gets between 35f and 40f during the day, the nights in December through February can be a whole lot colder.

I like winter because the garden is buried under snow. I can get outside for skiing and relax by the fire inside.

I will take the winter in Oklahoma every time over the summer in Oklahoma. I cannot take so many days of temperatures over 100 degrees. My electricity bill in the summer is crazy, but in the winter it isn’t a burden at all. I can always put on two pairs of socks, but I can’t take my skin off to get cooler. Not to mention, in my whole life here, we’ve only had one tornado in winter (2 years ago), whereas summer brings hundreds of those things. Now, if I lived somewhere my pipes always froze over in winter I might feel differently. But, as long as I live in Oklahoma, I will always prefer winter.

You'd hate it here. It's gotten as cold as 20 below in my lifetime; and we are in the snow belt. Sometimes we get a couple of feet of s**w.

After another hot Florida summer if someone took me back to Latvia right now this winter I would hardly be inside at all but tramping through the delightful snow and the woods and I would not be cold at all,
