It is going to be a long several weeks ahead of us.
Last Friday the lead teacher had her previously scheduled C-Section. All went well. She will be off ten weeks.
Last Saturday one of our aids had an emergency C-Section. Baby is doing okay, but he is 8 weeks early. They think he will be able to go home in 4 weeks.
Today is a Monday Tuesday. We were off Monday so our kids are tired and a bit confused.
I am tired. My student is rough and aggressive. Our para manager is trying to get me off the bus. She dropped in when I was having to do a complete clothing change. Her solution for him is for me to wear long sleeves. I promise, it will not help significantly
Buckling him in on the bus I got a bite that broke the skin.
I was so tired, and hubby wanted to go out for a treat last night. I told him we could go to Newton, because he had a prescription to pick up. In addition we went to Arby's and had Reuben sandwiches along with Jamocha shakes. Very yummy. I do not know if the sandwich person was new or not, but our sandwiches were absolutely stuffed with meat and sauerkraut..
That made my evening better.
So, tomorrow is Wednesday. Halfway through the week. It's a good thing.

One of the biggest problems is he is completely non verbal, so he cannot tell us what is wrong or why he is upset.

This is my one on one that I have done for years. He has always had a biting problem. Occasionally he has been agitated.Since his childcare routine changed and his pick up and drop off he has been confused. He has started pinching a lot more and his routine is different and our lead teacher is out and she had a good rapport with him. If I am on the bus, then I am not getting him ready for the end of the day. We did some trouble shooting today and he had a very good bus ride. I do not mind his acting out too much because I know it is the only way he can communicate.

@GardenGerty I thought you had been with the same boy, but I hadn’t remembered him being so violent before. I hope with all my heart they can get you off of that bus.

I am a paraprofessional, or a paraeducator. The person who manages the paras in our cooperative is our para manager. She is the one that has say so on who is hired and who has what position.

This is actually not the worst bite I have ever gotten. I have a "secret weapon" I should have used and did not.yesterday. My secret weapon is not the kevlar sleeves. He can bruise and injure through them. It is a pain killing ointment that has pepper oil in it. He can smell it and will not bite. It helps my carpal tunnel, too.

Got to love those long weekends. Long days aren't always fun, but it's over and a new day.

I just feel like I need to be in two places at once. I need to help figure out what will make my kiddo feel better.

Today was better. We did some trouble shooting to figure out things that would soothe him at bus time and figured out a winner.

Lack of being able to verbally communicate is a big part of the problem with all of the students in our program. I THINK I know what is bothering him, but whether people listen is a different story.

@GardenGerty Good luck with it. I guess the longer you're with him, the easier it might be to pick up clues to any behaviour that is out of character.

Arby's is one of our favorite places to go when we are on the go.
