I think it might have been a trappoidal fanfungle. Could be wrong though. I’ve been wrong before.

I came across it yesterday, almost the same colour as the sand it was lying on, and so beautiful. I was walking along the top of the dunes, parallel to the shore and heading north. All my attention was given to boats on the water shifting around each other, their sails taut in the wind, sheets of colour against the blue of sea and sky. Emerald, orange, red, white. I would have missed it had I not looked away from the sea for a moment and dropped my eyes onto a hollow below me, and when I did I couldn’t move my gaze away. My eyes couldn’t drink in enough and I could sense texture, smell, taste, temperature from my vantage point. The wind dropped and picked up, blew sand about, and rather than reach out to touch I moved on along the dunes and tried to forget, and hoped to see more.

And, pray tell, what is a trappoidal fanfungle. I know about fandangles but not fanfungles.
