I made lots of pizza tonight. What do you like on your pizza?

We like homemade pizza a lot. I usually try to keep some made up and frozen, ready to bake. But lately it seems the son is raiding the pizza stash, it was gone. I made the dough, got out the pizza pans, and came out with 4 regular sized pizzas and 2 of what people would probably call personal pan pizzas. I made those for just me, he likes pepperoni and I do not care for it, so he got all the pepperoni. I like cooked chicken on mine, mushrooms, and onions and green peppers. They taste so much better than the frozen ones from the store. I was going to post a picture or two, but...well, you know. So, that's what we had for supper this evening, along with a fresh chopped salad with awesome tomatoes. Hopefully, these pizzas will last for a while, it's nice to have them ready to bake when we are in a hurry. What do you like on your pizza?

I always like to have something in the freezer that we can get out if we need to.

Judy, so do I. I keep homemade soups, chili, a few casseroles, pizzas...it's pretty easy, I just make two of a lot of things and freeze one. Sometimes I just freeze one portion of something for myself. Sure beats fast food in price, and in taste!

I love pizza! Recently I ordered my custom pizza and I put mozzarella, Gorgonzola, artichokes, black olives, fresh basil, pepperoni, bacon & roasted red peppers. If I order from regular pizza spots I just do pepperoni, pineapple or pepperoni, mushroom & olives (depends on my mood)!

@MarieCoyle Oh yes, definitely mood reflects our pizza choices. Sometimes no meat is the way to go as well. Oh a nice steak would be nice too. You're making me have all sorts of cravings! Lol. Have a nice Friday & weekend.

Moods can reflect my pizza ingredients as well. Sometimes I choose no meat at all and just have vegetable pizza, although if the kids are around, I get nagged at when I have that, as I have an issue eating enough protein at times. They are right...but sometimes, meat doesn't sound good. We have been dreaming here about a good steak. But OH my gosh...I would have to take out a bank loan to buy them! We will be fine without a steak!

@infatuatedbby Sorry about that, I know...I guess since the steaks are not in the budget I will shift my thoughts to another type of meal to fix! Have a great day, Michelle.

@jstory07 I have not ever really liked really processed meats, pepperoni, hard salami, and such. Not sure why. I can taste it and think it tastes good, then on the second bite I always decide I don’t like it.

I like the classic Italian Pizza Margherita, only tomato sauce (NOT paste), mozzarella and fresh basil leaves.

@MarieCoyle The paste is too thick and it's not good to make a pizza. If I want more ingredients, like mushrooms or other vegetables, I make a savory pie instead of a pizza.

@LadyDuck I am usually making them trying to please the son here, or my other kids and grands, so it totally depends on who is here when I am putting them together.

@MarieCoyle Meat on a pizza should be cooked first. It can ruin a pizza if someone puts raw meat on it. I don't like pepperoni. We buy frozen barbecue chicken pizza at Walmart. It's really good.

@DaddyEvil Oh, I've had that BBQ chicken pizza before. It's' pretty good. I was rather shocked to discover there are some pizza parlors that just put little raw blobs of sausage on their pizzas. Umm...no.

I like sausage if it’s cooked and drained of the grease. And mushrooms and onions are just a must-have on my pizza. Pepperoni just doesn’t sit right and I have learned to just stay away from it. I never tried the chopped cooked chicken on pizza until the pandemic. Now I love it that way.

It never dawned on me to freeze our own ready to bake pizzas . . . see what great ideas I get on myLot ! I love pizzas with everything on it. When we make it at home, our typical pile of ingredients include white onion, black olives, mushrooms, green peppers, pepperoni, tomato, marinated artichoke, maybe Canadian bacon if I remember to buy it, and pineapple (not for me though).

@MarieCoyle How do you package it up to freeze? I told Hubby about your frozen pizzas and even he looked at me like oh my gosh why hadn't we thought of that!! So thank you! And I bought stuff to make pizza in the next couple days .

@much2say I have regular sized round pizza pans, and then I have the personal sized ones as well. None of them were expensive. I make the pizzas right on them. You can put the cheese on them and freeze them that way, or you can wait until you are going to bake them to add the cheese if you prefer (a bit less messy.) I cover the top with foil and seal it around the edges. Then I slide the entire pan into a 2 gallon ziplock bag (they are huge!) I have also frozen them on the pan, removed them as soon as they were frozen, wrapped and bagged it up without the pan, and stacked them on a shelf in the freezer, as well. If we make deep-dish, we use a 13X9 and just seal it up. I hope this helps!

I love having homemade frozen foods. So, so handy to grab when needed, and it's nice to know once in a while that I don't have to make a mess in the kitchen when it's late, I'm tired, and don't want to do a lot. Your pizza combo sounds good to me!

We bought pizza, homemade sounds greats. I hate to say it but pizza gave me runs. I do not think they cooked dough enough/ I am not sure how that works but bread is fiber supposed to strengthen poo, yet uncooked dough gives you the runs, fiber still there, is it not? I am not sure but my poos were looking great and then ate the dominoes pizza. I like pizza that does not give me the runs.

@MarieCoyle I like pizza hut better but not much of a improvement, my sister does anything my brother says. Its rather scary. Its family how it works and unless bread winner have to shut up and take it and that is my sister good for her, but my brother giving her bad advice she lost lots of retired money. That's what America teaches you take a chance.

I don't know what Domino's does to their pizza, but I can truthfully say it makes me very queasy and sick. A few times it's even come back up. It's just not worth it to me, I haven't had Domino's in years now.

I only want pineapple if the meat is ham or Canadian bacon, they just seem to go together. I am up in the air about anchovies. I think they are delicious. My Dad loved them, and he always kept some at home, and if we had pizza, he put a few on his portion. I had a hard time with that, didn't want to try them. One day I got brave and put a tiny little filet anchovy on my piece of pizza. OH, what I had missed, it was truly good. Very salty, but tasty. Most of the pizza places we know of here, have pretty much given up the anchovy thing, as no one ever wants them. My own family doesn't like them for the most part, with the exception of my eldest girl. Once in a while we get some and put a piece or two on some shared pizza, when none of our family who hates it has to see us eat it, since they all dislike the anchovies so much.

I'm one of those people who enjoys "experimental" pizzas, like fig with basil and burrata, or butternut squash with red onion and sage leaves, or bratwurst and potato with brown mustard. Most of the house does not share my love for experimental pizza and prefers either sausage with black olives or "Hawaiian" pizza with ham or bacon & pineapple.

@MarieCoyle If you try the squash idea, roast the pieces first (at least partially) since it takes longer to cook than the rest of the ingredients. My oldest daughter loves to tell the story of the time when I accidentally mixed up the containers of pizza sauce and eggplant curry in the fridge and made flatbread pizzas for lunch. That pizza was SPICY.

@spiderdust Oh, thanks for the tip on the squash, I thought maybe of a quick stir-fry or steam for it, but roasting sounds better and easier. Oh...that does sound really spicy! Sounds like she likes that memory, Kelli.

There are very few Pizza Hut places left around here. A lot of them just closed up before the pandemic hit. In our city, we now have only one Pizza Hut, and it's just ok...not great. I remember when they used to be delicious, but I haven't had it in years now because it was so disappointing here the past few times we got it.
