19 September - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good afternoon from a gray, cloudy, cool day in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA.
Have you wondered what happened to me? Wonder no more. I have much to be thankful for on this ultra-busy day.
I'm thankful for sleeping in this morning. I woke up at 4:15 this morning. I know, late. It was all good. I've been getting eight or close to eight hours of sleep a night lately.
I'm thankful for getting all the paperwork done for Social Services this morning and handed in. Both my FoodShare and Health benefits were due.
I'm thankful for the Bible study this morning. It was a good discussion.
I'm thankful for my hair appointment right after Bible study. I look like a new woman. My hair was really long. It's been more than a month since my last appointment and I forgot about it last week. So, I was glad she could get me in today. Now, I won't worry about my hair looking awful on Saturday for the book signing.
I'm thankful for the grocery shopping at Hy-Vee right after my hair appointment. I got more than I planned on, but it was needed.
I'm thankful for the oil change I got after grocery shopping. They told me it was 20 months since my last oil change. Though in that time, it was only 4000 miles, so not bad. I also got new windshield wipers.
So, it was an expensive day today, but a necessary one. I didn't want to worry about the car on my trip south on Friday. You might have guessed I won't be here much this weekend. I'm spending the night at my sister's on Friday and have a book signing from Saturday morning to early afternoon.

Sounds like it will be a busy weekend yes. Hope it goes well. I haven't had my car's oil changed in probably just as long, but going to be "buying" my grandma's car so not worried about the oil.

You should worry about the oil. If it needs it and goes unchecked, you could destroy the engine. That happened to us when my kids were little.

@just4him Getting rid of the car in like a week and selling it to a person that buys junk cars probably. So that's why I am not worried.
