Some Chinese parents are violating...

... the rule. During the pandemic, the Chinese government implemented a rule that kids aged 10 and below would not study the English language online or in other extracurricular programs aside from subjects at school. But then, they still let their kids do so. This is the reason why my former company failed to anticipate, and they were greatly affected. It is also the reason why I decided to quit working with them. In my view, it is fine if they want to learn a second language because it will be useful for them in the long run. What are your thoughts about this?

Chinese come up with a lot if rules and laws, nobody can raise the objection. If someone doesn't agree can they say so? This is clearly unfair.

There are so many things that are forbidden in this country. They cannot even access some international websites. Although some can still do the illegal action by using VPN. I doubt if the authorities can monitor and catch them.

It is useful to learn another language. I wonder what the purpose was to forbid it..seems counter productive.

According to some Chinese parents of my students, the Chinese government wants the students to focus more on their schools' subjects.

@RebeccasFarm I think they do. Unlike us, they do have homework every day. That's insane for me to handle.

@Shavkat If they have too many subjects, I can understand.

I also think so. I hope their local government can realize this. As a matter of fact, most of these students cannot speak the language fluently. It would be hard for them to cope in the future.

I agree. I sometimes felt bad when I saw some kids who could not afford to study online. I do hope that their local government will not stop parents from having the privilege to have further study.

It seems odd to me to that they would forbid people from letting their children do that. If I were a parent I would find that ridiculous.

Some parents are whining about this. That is why they are so careful about letting their kids learn the second language despite the Chinese government's directives.

To learn other language is a plus because it can help us even more to communicate to different kind of people who learn the same.

Indeed, the English language is still considered a universal language. As far as my concern goes, it is best to learn it while they are still young.
