The Missing Birthday Card

It was my husband's birthday on Saturday and a relative of ours sent him a card with a gift card in it 10 days ago. This relative lives one state over from us so I am thinking my husband's birthday card has met a terrible fate!
The suspicious thing is I sent this relative's spouse a birthday card with a gift card in it in May. All that arrived was the birthday card, with nothing inside but a slit across the side of the envelope. It looked like someone slit it and shook to gift card out, then sent the card on its merry way.
I don't think we should be sending each other gift cards anymore. Something seems fishy with either their post office or ours.
Have you ever gotten a card in the mail with a gift card or money missing from the inside?

That happened to my sister's anniversary card my mom and dad sent her and her husband one year. It had a $75 gift card in it. My brother-in-law called his post office to complain because he had noticed his mail looked like it had been opened before. My sister cried.
If I send a gift card, I send it in a regular looking envelope no one would suspect had a gift card, or I tape up the card so it isn't possible to slit it open. And, I admit, I left a note on the inside of a birthday card that read, "Before you steal this gift card, mail person, remember God sees you, and you are committing a crime!" I did that about fifteen years ago, granted, but in case someone tried to steal again, I thought I would give them a warning.

I hate sending anything in a card these days. It's certainly weird that your sent card was tampered with and that your husbands never arrived. The last time I sent a birthday card with a gift card I put it in a bubble envelope so that it wouldn't look like a card. Thankfully it arrived intact.

I was also a victim of that. I won a contest online. I was rewarded a watch worth $ 450 USD but the watch did not arrive. It was supposed to arrive in December 2022. It originated in Tennessee. There are so many bad people this time. May God punish them.

The US Mail is a travesty..everything is stolen these days. Sorry this happened..I do not send things in the mail anymore. I had too many things go missing.
These days, there are ways to send online gift cards, but now, even anything can be hacked.
