yes, i've read it in newspaper/magazine too that this has been happening now in the society. it has gone the other way now that women are beating their husbands. i know there are cases in malaysia as well as singapore too...i dont really approve of any relationship that turns abusive.

Its rare to hear about things like that but I am sure it happens. We had a Woman here that beat up her husband after he shot her 6 time point blank in the stomach and chest. He claimed it was in self defense. The messed up part was they took her to jail because she beat the living crap out of this guy. He is like 5'5" and weight like 160 pounds and she was 6'3" and weighed around 220 pounds and worked on the Ohio River Locks and was extremely muscular. She survived the whole ordeal but thats one woman I wouldnt want to mess with.

No it's not always the men who beat the ladies. I have not witness the lady beating up her man, but I have heard horror stories about it. It usually does not get reported because the men are embarrassed but it does happen. Good topic by the way.

No it doesn't shock me at all lol. They say, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." I don't hear about it often locally though.

This does not surprise me at all. My husband left his first wife because she was physically abusive towards him. The sad thing is that most men are too ashamed to admit that they are being beat up by a woman to report it or leave.

Although this number may seem very high there are some issues you should consider. These statistics are the result of arrests of women for domestic assault. At least 80% of these cases are closer to self-defence or fighting back than straight abuse. I know of what I speak. Done enough Domestic Assault investigations to know. And if you were to here the stats of men abusing their female partners it would make this 250,000 number appear pitiful.

i know that sometimes when i get angry enough i will sometimes swing at my bf, but i have to be very very angry for that to happen and it has only happened twice, but I was a viticm of domestic abuse by one of my ex boyfriends, so i think it strings off of that.

Yes, I do.
I had a friend who was beaten by his wife. She came from a previous marriage where she was abused, therefore she felt that he should hit her too.
We witnessed many drunken nights of her hitting him, and not once did he hit her back.
Basically, her reasoning was, she wanted him to hit her, since that is what she was use to. She would rassel him even.
Anyways, thankfully he got away from her and is living life as a decent human.

gosh, i will never allow myself to be beaten up by a woman. maybe the occasional hit for fun kinda. but being attacked and abused physically by them is a humiliation...

That doesn't surprise me at all. Since now alot of men don't hit women anymore, the women are taking the advantage of that and start to beat men. My step-mother is that way with my dad. She starts fights and hits my dad, but he just walks away and never left a hand to hurt her. Makes me want to hit her myself. And she always wants more than just hitting him. Good thing is my dad just gets out of the house and comes back when she cools down. Otherwise, I think my dad would go for it and gives her something that she'll never forgets. But, now they're happy people and don't fight anymore ,thankfully.

Yes... there are many abused man around!I have heard of such in where I live, but not many cases. Perhaps the number could be alot higher if not for the fact that when the abused is a man, they don't tend to report it because many will feel that it can't be true-that their wives are bashing them! Then there is also the social stigma.

Yes I have heard of it. A couple that I know of got a divorce not too long ago and we found out later that it was because she was beating up on him.
