We Had a Nice Day Today

As my husband ages he likes me to be around him more and more. Today my schedule included a lot of errands so I asked him if he and Jenny our dog wanted to come with me. He said yes so I got to have him chauffuer me around. First, we went to the thrift store to donate some items that were cluttering up the house. I would have shopped there for eBay but because he was with me, I didn't. Then we went to Walgreens to pick up his prescription. Then we went to Kroger to pick up my prescription and earn gas points. While we were at Kroger, I ran in to get 5 items: Seattles Best Decaf Coffee, blueberries, Iced tea, mushrooms and organic bananas. They were out of the organic bananas and the coffee. I was SO disappointed. Next we ran bu the post office to put 2 items in the mail. And last I went to the Dollat Tree to pick up a few things. When we were all done, we decided to go to lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in town that has an outside covered patio so we could bring the dog. I had a delicious Greek salad with chicken on top, and he had a Reuben sandwich with french fries. I shared some of my chicken with Jenny. She is very good when we take her out to eat with us. I prefer to run errabds by myself, but it was a nice day and both my husband and Jenny enjoyed getting out. Do you like running errabds with your significant other, or do you prefer to go on your own?

Nice you were able to have a good day together. Speaking of Seattle's Best, I love that coffee and used to get it at Walmart, but I haven't seen it there lately.

@Kouponkaren We don't have a Kroger here but we do have a Ruler which is owned by Kroger. They don't have a lot of brands (it's much like an Aldi), but maybe I'll have a look. It's not like I have to have it. But I do like it.

@porwest Our Walmart doesn't carry it and I have to get it at Kroger. Fortunately, my husband is not out of it yet. He still has half a bag left so I will need to get some soon. I will be in a town that has a Publix tomorrow so I will check there.

@wolfgirl569 My husband doesn't either and his knees bother him so he doesn't get out of the car. He just drives me around.

I like it sometimes, but get things done faster without him!

@kareng For me, it goes faster with him because I don't dawdle as much and look around because I know he is waiting in the car. And he also doesn't have a lot of patience.

@Kouponkaren If I have only a few things to buy, I am glad to walk to the stores, but I know he likes to come with me.

@LadyDuck Well, I guess since you don't drive, it's good that he does and drives you around.

Sounds like y'all had a good day together. Dale's been driving me most everywhere since Jan, but I'm doing more driving now.

@Kouponkaren It really is nice. Have you heard anything from your mammogram? I'm still praying.

@1creekgirl It must feel good that you can get out and about a bit on your own now.

I like hubby to go as we do not spend much time together since I work. He does not go in the stores with me though.

@jstory07 That's what I do too but yesterday he disagreed with me as to the order of what stores to go to. I have my own way of doing things so this was rather annoying to me. He doesn't get out to the town we were in that much so I felt my plan was better...but I let him go in the order he was ost comfortable with. Ya gotta pick your battles, and that wasn't worth a battle!

It depends on the errands whether hubby goes with me. I am known for having my Rufus dog along- the senior thrift store lady asked where "my buddy was?" He is allowed in there and behaves well so often I take him with me.

@sallypup Aw, that's sweet that he can go in with you and that he behaves. My dog gets too excited so I don't think she would do well in a thrift store. I do like to take her into Home Depot and Tractor Supply though.
