You know the saying, "there is always a first time?" Well it happened to me today at the boutique. Since we cater to teens and young ladies, over 50% of our business falls into that age bracket.
Today I had a young lady in 20's no more than 25 come in with her boyfriend. She was shopping for a dress or outfit to wear to a wedding this coming weekend. She picked out a long jumpsuit that was so full it could be mistaken as a long dress and 2 short dresses. She asked if "they" could run go try her selections on and before I realized it, I had said YES! Her boyfriend was her clothes holder and he followed her to the dressing room door. I told him that was as far as he could go and he smiled and said, "that is why I stopped right here."
I figured she would through a little tantrum but she behaved and and came out to model for him. I think she forgave me when I expressed my opinion of how well the first outfit looked on her.
When she tried on the second one, she took it off immediately and expressed her dislike. She ended up buying the first outfit, the jumpsuit that she tired on first. It really did look good on her!!
Have you ever put your foot in your mouth and then just ask yourself, "what did I just say?????"

On myLot? Oh, yes! In real life situations? Oh, yes...and some of the situations turned out funny.

Oh yes! I've said many things that I regretted. Wish I could go back and try them again. Have a good day.

@kareng I've spent a good amount of my life kicking myself for saying something or not saying something!

Haha. Yes, there were several times when I felt bad about what I said. I am quite outspoken, and there are instances when I speak without thinking.

You could do much worse, Karen. When I was 25, and should have been wiser, I inadvertently mentioned my spry 86 year old coworker’s mortality. I have no idea what was on my mind because I care so much about feelings. Fortunately, she had thick skin.
I imagine your compliment more than made up for anything.

When I was younger I had athlete’s tongue from sticking my foot in my mouth so much.

Sometimes I speak before I think and have managed to put my foot in my mouth. In this case I probably would have said the same thing as you. Glad the girl found a nice jumpsuit for the wedding.

I think we all do that now and again.
