It is also my birthday month. I do like to celebrate. It's also my anniversary month (because I got married on my birthday) so we'll celebrate that as well.
The first birthday I remember actually properly celebrating was my 34th. I might have gone out for one or two of them but never did much. I don't remember my childhood birthdays except for my 7th, and that was more because of the famous hurricane than because of my birthday!
I have been let down before with trying to arrange something and then people not turning up. I now tend to arrange things for just a few reliable people. A lot of the time, it will just be a meal out with my family or a couple of close friends. Last year, my dad asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I asked for a day out with him, so we went to a different town and he treated me to some lunch. This year, I told my husband I wanted a day out doing something different. I left him to decide what to do, and we are going to visit another town and its castle.
I do understand your dilemma about not knowing if you want to celebrate. I enjoy celebrating, but have been let down before, so it's a tricky one. I hope you do celebrate and do something enjoyable.
