In this season of the year there are always fairs on the weekend. On Sunday we went to an autumn fair nearby dedicated to autumn fruits.
It was the first time I saw pumpkins this size, the largest weighed more than 500 kilos
I love pumpkin and one of these could be used for everything, making soup, roasting in the oven, making pumpkin jam, muffins, cakes... an endless number of things. They should even be able to make Cinderella's carriage
They weren't for sale, it was just for exhibition.
Do you like pumpkin? Have you seen such big ones?

We have other kind of pumpkins (green) in my country and they are ripe in March or April. Lately, big supermarkets import those orange pumkins but much smaller to sell at very high prices to rich children for Halloween (an imported holiday here too).

@nela13 All this is a shame as I see it. We celebrated All Saints day before. Now children go trick or treating dresed up like ghosts. Out own culture is slowly dying.

@marguicha It is true, we must preserve our own cultures, halloween is just a way for the stores to make money.

I have never seen gigantic pumpkins in real life, only in photos. But when I saw your photo, the first thought that popped into my head was that the orange pumpkin would have been perfect for Cinderella's carriage!
