We recently looked after a border collie pup, Zoom, at our last house-sit.
You can see I have my foot on her toy and she is playing tug-a-war with me. At the top of the image, you can see the Weldmesh that we’ve placed over the hole she was digging. I think she was on her way to China before we spoilt her game.
The Border Collie is a British breed widely used for herding. It has a strong instinct for herding and will often try to round up any animals it comes across from geese to sheep to cows. They are an exceptionally intelligent breed and need a lot of exercise and stimulation if they’re to be kept happy. I always see a bit sorry for the ones I see in suburbia but hopefully their owners are aware of their needs.

They love to dig. I had to put wire over a hole to stop Patch again. If they are taught commands and exercised regular they can be happy anywhere

I always thought border collies were black and white. Clearly I don't know much .

I recognise the avatar! Great to see you here again. I think black and white is perhaps more common and better known but there are plenty of brown and white ones too.

@SophiaMorros You need to write a discussion and bring us all back to date - only if you want to of course - but I did always enjoy reading bout your home-schooling, etc. I know the kids are all way past that now. Hope all is well with your family.

Zoom is lovely. She looks soft, and I like the color of her hair.

Zoom looks quite cute and playful!
If my kids were to meet her, they would be ultra excited and happy.

what a cutie! yepperz, they like to dig 'n need much stimuli to be content. a job 'tis best, they do well 't agility, too. someone tried to gimme a pup soon 'fter i lost my sweet girl. 'twas temptin' but felt'd not be good fer the pup with my life'n such a mess. i'd not time fer trainin' 'n 'twas too soon 'fter her loss.

Zoom is a cutie patootie. I feel sorry for any dog that is tied up outside and doesn't get the attention and love from its owners that it deserves. Have a good Sunday.
