I have lived in Idaho all of my life. There have been a lot of stories in the news that I have followed and had my own ideas about. This one is no different. I had a co-worker at that time whose boyfriend was in the penitentiary out here and so she met some of the other guys when she went out to visit. She and her boyfriend were rooting for this guy at the time. Thomas Creech had killed two people in 1974 and had been convicted and sentenced to death row. The sentence was reduced to life until he beat an inmate to death with a sock full of batteries. I mean the guy was a killer. He was again sentenced to death in 1983 and I wanted it to just be over. My friend was up in arms about it and I felt that justice needed to prevail here. But, he just set on death row.
There was a problem in obtaining the chemicals that were necessary for the lethal injection in another inmate's case. He had filed a lawsuit due to the off-and-on scheduling for his execution and so a judge just put a stop to it all for a while.
A death warrant has been issued Thursday for Creech and finally on November 8th the execution will take place. It has been a long time coming. I hate to hear of any execution but in some cases, it just needs to take place.
I have shared a link below for those of you who want to read the full story.
What is your take on executions? I think that in certain horrible murders, it is justified.

Since "Thou Shall Not Kill" is one of the 10 Commandments, I see it as if you kill someone, you just broke God's Law and deserve to lose your life. You also have the "eye for an eye" story so, it is well justified--especially for repeat offenders!

I think if the crime is heinous then the sentence should be too.

I'm torn on the subject. You hear "an eye for an eye" but there is also "Thou shalt not kill". Who are we to decide who should die? It's an ongoing battle. Enjoy your Sunday.

I am mixed on it. There have been times when more evidence surfaced that proved the person innocent.

@LindaOHio ........I feel that when a person is deranged enough to carry out a horrible crime we don't need him taken up space, he needs to die.
