Joanie Morgan who lives in Virginia even though which city she calls home was not mentioned recently sent via airmail an overdue book that someone checked out of the Larchmont Public Library located in New York in 1933 was supposed to have been returned on October 11, 1933.
The name of the book that was found by Joanie when she was cleaning the home of her stepfathers is called "Youth And Two Other Stories" that was written by Joesph Conrad was returned to the library in New York just before October 11.
The cost of the overdue book in the Larchmont Public Library is $5 dollars since even though was returned to the library 90 years later is the maximum fine according to the rules of the library.

The library officials were very happy to have the book returned to them even though it was late.

Now that's a new take on the phrase "better late than never." $5 for a book rental is a good bargain these days. I'm sure it costs well over that to buy one. Fun story!

I always worry about returning my library books on time because I would not like to pay a fine. It was good that the library was still there after 90 years. I wonder if they will lend the book out again.

I am sure that the library will place the book up to be checked out in the future.

That amount is a good price for an over due book that was not returned for 90 years.

People have a tendency to misplace the books they borrow. I wonder where are the books I have lent to my family and friends.
