Versatile cabbage

I consider cabbage one of the most insipid vegetables but is loaded with health properties. I cook cabbage in different ways Cabbage is cut in long fine strips and boiled with onion, oil and green chilies. Once cooked a bit of sugar and salt is added and a handful of scraped coconut Another way is to cut cabbage in chunks, add sliced tomatoes, oile and sliced onion. Once boiled add pepper powder and salt to taste. I have already posted about cabbage salad which is my favourite - grate cabbage, marinate it in salt, squeeze out and add curds to which mustard paste is added. Mix thoroughly, add onion rings, and chopped coriander leaves. Can you think of any other way cabbage is cooked? Image credit:

I just boiled a pot of green cabbage with dinner today. I added fried bacon with the grease, onion powder, salt and black pepper. It was so good, especially with red vinegar. I added a little hot sauce to mine. The only other way I have used it is grated raw for slaw.

In my home cabbage is cooked with jeera, garam masala. Otherwise it is plain sautéed in mustard oil.

Cabbage is very smart. It takes all the taste from pork and everyone will say cabbage is so tasty (lol)
