Chinese for breakfast

Understand, this is American Chinese food, so if you're in China, this may not look like yours. Last night, unbeknownst to me, my daughter ordered Chinese for both of us. I had offered her a Marie Callender meal, but she said no and went to her room. I ended up eating the meal I offered her. Chicken and broccoli linguini in Alfredo sauce. Then I went to bed. I heard her get up and go downstairs and thought she had gone to let the dog out. She came back up and went to her room. The next thing I knew, she was bringing piping hot Chinese food to my room...chicken and broccoli and lo mein. I told her I had already eaten, but it smelled so good, I took the lid off and ate some of it. Then I set it aside and went to sleep, So, that's how I came to eat Chinese food for breakfast. Technically, it might be considered lunch, but it was my first meal of the day, so breakfast. And it was delicious!

You are right. It looks like lunch as the food is a bit more but it will be also nice to have it as breakfast. After all, the noodles are available and sometimes we will eat noodles as breakfast.

Also, I didn't take a picture when I first got it. I went online to find the same foods that looked the most like it. I had far less food than the photos I used,

I like this kind of Chinese food. It looks like "pancit canton" in my country.

I had to look that up. It is a type of lo mein, according to what I just read. It's funny (or not really funny, but interesting) how many foods around the world are similar to others of other cultures. Pot stickers/dumplings, gyozas, pierogies - all little dough pockets filled with tastiness. Different flat breads like naan, pitas, tortillas. But, it was definitely good.

Some Chinese food are best eaten while it's still warm from being cooked, while others taste better after reheated. Can't really tell why, but I think that is one breakfast that I have tried many times. I hate wasting food, so I am not at all picky when it comes to reheating leftovers.

I ate this unheated. I frequently eat leftovers unheated. But, it depends on what it is. Some things just HAVE to be hot to taste good or to not be soggy.

I got tired of it for a long while because the friend I go to dinner with ALWAYS wants to do Asian. I just got burned out. But, this was good.

I'll eat whatever I have on hand. Sometimes it's traditional breakfast food, but it could also be leftovers from any meal.

It is just a little different from the Chinese food we eat in China.

Chinese food is absolutely, hands down, no questions asked, my FAVORITE ethnic cuisine, and I could never tire of it, and eat it any time of day. Bon appetit.

This was particularly good. It seems like they're using a new cook or new recipes. It was so good, we ordered it again today.

@porwest We've always liked this one, but it tasted so much better than ever before. We hope it stays that way.

@jerzgirl When it comes to Chinese we definitely have a go-to place, and one is never the same. I hope they don't change anything with the one we like now.
