Is it wrong to drink tea every day?

Recently I started to drink mint tea every day. My mom told me that I shouldn't drink so much tea because it's bad. I tried for years to force myself to drink water and I can't. Each sip of water was awful and torture because I was choking often. This happened because of severe anxiety. I can drink tea easily, it has a better taste, but I wonder if it's harmful.

The big additive to the tap water in the U.S. is the chlorine. I get one whiff of the chlorine and I am turned off to drinking the water, whether it's from the tap or otherwise. Like I said, when I was going through the apartment I was planning to rent, I checked the water, got one whiff of the water and the chlorine and almost didn't rent the apartment. Periodically I get a strong chlorine smell from the tap water and am thankful that I buy flats of bottled water for drinking, for both the cats and myself.

@BearArtistLady My cats drink filtered water too. We have the same problem in Europe. Chlorine has a strong taste and smell. Here a bottle of water is almost $1. Is bottled water cheaper there?

I see no worries with drinking tea, I brew up black tea and pour it in a jug and drink unsweetened iced tea throughout the day, In between I also have some orange juice.

@dya80dya it perks me up a bit and I got an answer for you from the Internet
A standard cup of coffee typically contains 200 mg of caffeine whereas black tea contains 60 mg. Made from the tea plant “ Camellia Sinensis”, black tea increases alertness and power in addition to boosting energy. In this category, the same can be applied to that of Iced tea or Sweet tea. Which is one of the most popular teas in America.

I love different teas, I once even found a chocolate tea. I haven't found it since but haven't given up trying to find it again. I check out various teas for their healthful benefits. There are several that I have problems locating them, but like I said before I haven't given up trying to find them. The catnip tea, when I can find it, I end up sharing it with my two cats. One useful benefit is that the catnip tea makes the cats very VERY happy and content.

@dya80dya We are accustomed to drinking black tea here because the climate is cold and black tea can warm the stomach

@dya80dya Drink it every day, but some people may experience insomnia if they drink too much tea, so it's important to determine how many cups of tea to drink based on their own situation

I think it would depend on how much you drink honestly.

@dya80dya That doesn't sound like too much, although you might want to add some other beverages in with it.

It is a must for me. I used to drink many times in the day but now I have restricted it to once a day

I don’t think that tea is bad for your health. I drink a lot of different kinds of tea every day, mornings until nights. I drink black tea with fresh milk in the morning. Then followed fresh hibiscus tea, blue ternate tea, green tea and other kinds of teas. I drink my hibiscus and blue ternate teas with lemon juice and sweetened with honey. I drink green tea without anything in it. I am lucky that I have hibiscus plants and blue ternate plants here in my Philippines garden. I will be missing these teas when I go back to Germany.

I have to add that I also drink cat nip tea, but I have two problems with that type of tea. Their names are Petey and Freya. They both help themselves to a liberal helping of tea from my cup when they catch a whiff of the cat nip. Then I have two tea drinkers that are cats that are high on cat nip. I can't get upset with them, they are two wonderful house mates and furry roomies...it's just that I tend to forget that Petey and Freya are cats when I brew the cat nip tea. (ROTFL) They don't forget that they love drinking the cat nip tea when I brew a cup of it, or when I brew two cups of cat nip tea when I remember having them for roomies.....
