I hate that I can't turn off a movie once I get started. I am watching "The Cleaning Lady" and it is really awful. But I have to see what happens. Sometimes I have to see what the writer decided to do as far as the storyline. Other times it is because of my extreme curiosity. This one is the curiosity thing. What will the cleaning lady do next? I guess it was so sick they actually made a TV show out of it. Only lasted for two seasons. This lady who is seeing a married man and trying to get away from him makes friends with her cleaning lady. The poor gal has scars and the woman tries to bring her out of her shell a little by showing her some make-up techniques. She's a real homicidal maniac and I can see why. Her mother is a real jerk. The movie even ends weirdly. I hate that kind. I don't think I'll be making friends with any cleaning ladies any time soon. That's an hour and a half I will never get back.

If a movie starts off bad and I can't get into it, I just shut it off....

@celticeagle If I'm not engaged by ten or so minutes, I don't see a reason to keep watching it.

They totally changed the plot when they made it a TV show. I didn't watch it, but when it first came out I read a long article about it. The cast included Oliver Hudson, Goldie Hawn's son, and I always thought he was so handsome.

That is one reason I do not go to the movies anymore is that the ending of some of these movies do not have happy endings anymore.

Well, now you've made me interested in seeing The Cleaning Lady movie. When I watch a movie, I watch about 5 minutes of the beginning, then skip to the middle and watch a little, and then skip to about 5 minutes until the end and watch the entire end of the movie. If I like what I've seen I'll go back to the beginning and watch the full movie. I do that all the time.

@celticeagle I do that and I always regret it. Most movies should never have been made.

I used to waste time watching a movie that I didn't like but now I just turn it off. I used to do the same thing with a book and felt obligated to finish once I started but now I just put it aside and start something else.

If I get curious about a book or movie I have to see it to the end and I do hate it when the writer just stops and doesn’t actually tell what happened.

@celticeagle It ruins the whole book. I watched a movie last night. Sherlock Holmes and Watson. You can be sure they got their man.

I think that is the major draw to many of these shows. People identify so well with the characters.

I did that with a couple of movies this week; and I'm sorry I stuck it out. As you said, that's time I'll. never get back. Have a good week.
