Weekend Yard Sale Find

I had to pick up some auction wins on Saturday from an online auction that I sat through on both Monday and Thursday nights last week. I won 3 pieces of Fenton glassware in Milkglass in the hobnail design. I also got a crystal serving plate.
The owner of the business where I won the auction also has a store where they have misc. things, a bait shop and an antique store. His son just happened to be having a yard sale on Friday and Saturday. I planned to take a look around, not expecting anything good to be left. It was almost 2 pm when we got there. I walked around to the yard sale first before going inside to get my auction stuff.
My hubby poked around for a few minutes and quickly called it all junk. He left and went inside. I piddled around and took my time. I found a box of old baby dolls with some composites in there. Upon looking closer I spied the doll in the photo, which is an original 1934 Shirley Temple doll made by Ideal. A couple of the dolls had price tags on them from the original owner and several were over $100. I knew Shirley Temple would be much more than that.
I took the whole box to the table and asked how much the dolls were? He asked me how many I wanted and I asked him what could he do on a "box deal." He said, "$20!" I said, "SOLD" really fast!
When I got home Saturday night I inspected her and found the markings on her neck and signature on her back that proved she is the real deal! I'm still excited over this find and giggle about a young man not knowing what he had!
Have you found any good deals lately? If so, what was it?

I wish I could say I did, but I didn't. Oh well, could be a lot worse. My husband did score some free drinks. So, that was nice.

@LadyDuck Oh wow, vinyl records! I had a bunch of Elvis albums that were all ruined with a leak in my closet when upstairs bathroom had pipe broken at apartment complex years ago. I was not very happy over that but knew nothing of apartment insurance at 18!

@kareng - I have a lot of things that I consider "junk" but I will get good money from them. We have more than a hundred vintage vinyl records and I have some very old dolls that my Mom had in her bedroom. The problem in this small country is always where to sell those things.

Well, congrats to you but that certainly does not look anything like the real Shirley Temple but since it is original I hope it nets you a nice price,

Congrats on your win. Wow! What a find. Depending on the condition that doll could be worth between $200 to $800. Are you going to insure it?

@celticeagle I'm not sure yet. I haven't seen a tag on the dress, but just took a quick look. I have been working on getting stuff ready for Thursdays Mistletoe Christmas Open House at antique store and Friday did my usual flea market run.

We used to go to sales every weekend and accumulated a lot of collectibles. The Shirley Temple doll was quite a find. I once found a rare Fiesta vase for 25 cents. Have a good day.

You got a true bargain.
When you do sell it (for much more than $20!) take a minute to gloat, and buy something you want! Good job!
