Witch's hat contest

Every year on Halloween, my daughter's school holds different competitions. This year, students who wanted to participate had to make a witch's hat. Of course, my daughter wanted to participate, she gave her idea of how she wanted the hat and I helped her.
We won't know the result until next week, but my daughter thinks it's not scary enough, but a witch's hat doesn't have to be scary, don't you agree?
Last year we made a witch's broom, and she won 3rd place, but she thinks this year she won't win anything.

Fellow myLotter @Melanie_Marie and I always engage in holiday hat competitions (she always wins, of course). Now that I know you and your daughter participated in a witch's hat competition, you should join in our myLot hat competition! Our next one will be for New Year's Eve, where Melanie and I will compete to see who can come up with the best New Year's Eve headwear.

@nela13 Yes, we usually do. When it comes time, I will make sure to let you know, or make sure you are tagged in any discussion on the contest.

That looks interesting and with a lot of work done on it.
Here too, Halloween is gathering popularity although it is more in the commercial sense though kids do enjoy dressing up and going House to House performing Trick or Treat.

@nela13
It seems like a very big occasion in US, Canada and UK.
Is it that much traditionally celebrated in the mainland Europe?

Hmm.. seems to be a Global trend now!
Not bad, but we should also know what beliefs and values belong to different festivals!

@nela13 Did you mention that she was capable of changing it without your help?

The first prize is a book, she is confident that she won't win this year but that's okay, she is happy to participate anyway.
