I've been to a wedding today.

Today I went to a wedding!
Yesterday I had to get a dress out of my wardrobe to wear, which meant getting everything moved from infront of it! Books, a soup maker, boots, a bag of clothes! And I had to take books off a table that I had to squeeze past so I wouldn't knock them off! (When I say yesterday I mean Friday, because it's already passed midnight here!) So tomorrow (actually later today!) I'm going to have to move them all again to put them back!
I wore a long grey dress with darker grey flower patterns and a sparkly black bit at the collar. When I tried it on I found it was a bit long, but there was a belt on the hanger with it, so when I put that on it hitched it up a bit. I thought it would be OK because wearing my shoes would make me a bit taller, tall enough that the dress wouldn't drag on the floor. With the dress I wore a nice warm pink jacket.
The doors to Church were being opened at 1:20pm ready for refreshments at 1:30pm. My Mum thought there would be something to eat there, so she didn't bother cooking anything for lunch for her and my step-dad. But I realised refreshments just meant tea or coffee and biscuits. So I got myself a sweet and sour Quorn ready meal to have for my lunch and I did that in the microwave at midday. After I'd had my lunch I didn't bother having a cup of tea because of having refreshments at the Church.
I got into my dress and jacket and showed my Mum. Then I set off walking it and my Mum and step-dad followed in the car. I went and posted a letter first. When I got to the Church, the orders of service had just arrived so I was the first to get one! Then we were showed into the lounge where the refreshments were being served. (The lounge used to be the main hall when the Church was just built.) The refreshments were just as I thought. Just a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. The lady went and got me a proper mug and I had a green tea and treated myself to a chocolate biscuit. Ian (the grooms) best man Roger said he'd met me before, at the exhibition! My Mum and step-dad arrived a bit later and got some drinks and went and sat across from me and had a chat with some people.
We were told to go into the main hall at 1:50pm ready for the bride to come at 2:00pm. She was fashionably late and came at 2:15pm! She said she wasn't going to wear a meringue! She actually wore a black dress.
The service was very nice. She came in and went out to some nice classical music, not the usual wedding march. She came in to Air, forget the composers name. Ian has a slight speech impediment, but I thought he did very well. We sang some hymns. I'm not that into hymns but these ones were nice. We sang a song to the tune of I Vow To Thee My Country (but it wasn't those words) The tune is called Thaxted by Gustav Holst. Someone read The Daffodil by William Wordsworth. But just before the bride came in I started to want the loo! I managed to see the bride enter and our Pastor welcome us and ask the bride and groom if there was any just impediment (actually I think he just used the word reason), but as soon as they started singing the first hymn I had to rush out to the loo! (I didn't want to have an accident in my lovely dress!) I went to the disabled loo for convenience, and it has a more secure seat! The seats in the regular loos all shift about! I managed to get back in two verses from the end of the hymn. There was an American Rev who read the passage of scripture about love, Love is patient, love is kind, etc. And then she went out to Ode to Joy.
Afterwards I went out to say Hi to the bride and give her our card incase my Mum didn't get to see her. In the end she did manage to. Then I went home.
When my Mum and step-dad came home I said to my Mum, you must be starving, you didn't have any lunch! So she and my step-dad had the battered fish they would have had for lunch as an early tea! I had a pasty, some salmon balls and some Love, Corn!
What have you lot been getting up to today?
I hope you lot are all well and having a good weekend.
Have a great night.

It sounds like a lovely wedding. Unfortunately, the last few weddings I attended were in very hot weather, and I almost passed out. One was in the month of July, and the church air conditioning was broken. Everyone felt like they were dying of heat stroke.

It was a very good wedding, yes.
It was fine. It was a bit chilly out, but I didn't feel it because of my lovely warm pink jacket! I'm sorry the weather was too hot for the last few weddings you went to.

@sharonelton I’d never thought about that but it’s a;good possibility. Have you thought about joining a dating site. I know two couples that met on a dating site and married.

Yes, that's absolutely right. I love a good wedding. They also say it's a good place to find your future husband, but I have no experience of that!

@RubyHawk I've been on Tinder. But every now and then my saved profiles and conversations disappeared. I've also done postal dating things 3 times but that didn't work. And there's all those romance scams to beware of. I'd rather meet someone in person.

I hope you enjoyed doing your chores while I was at a Wedding! We weren't invited to the reception. They could only invite so many people and family and close friends come first, so we just went to the ceremony.

@kareng Well, I'm glad you caught up with your chores. I really need to do some tidying up, but the trouble is, I don't know where to put everything when it's sorted!
It's fine. I wanted to get home and watch some telly anyway!

@RebeccasFarm I'm glad it was a lovely day. It's very windy here today with occasional showers, and my Mum has gone to get a birthday present for my step-dad.

@LindaOHio Thank you very much. I don't know, she hasn't come back yet to tell me! It's not raining now anyway, but it still looks a bit windy.
