How often do you eat vegetarian?

Although I have tried to be vegetarian, it never works out for me in the long term, but I do eat vegetarian maybe 2 or 3x per week. I don't usually set out to do it, but sometime it just turns out that way. I think being vegetarian is generally healthier, cheaper and better for the environment, so I am all for it. Are you like me, a partial, accidental vegetarian, or do you do it on purpose?

There is a difference between being a vegetarian and a vegan. Most vegetarians eat milk and egg products. Veganism is a subset of vegetarianism. Some also just have milk and not eggs.

I am mostly vegetarian. I say mostly because l have soy or almond milk. I have eggs. I have a special chicken dish twice a year and some fish every other month . So l am vegetarian most of the time, but not exactly all of the time.

@Kandae11 Yes, you are close. I think you are more than a Flexitarian who consciously tries to eat less meat.

Although I like vegetables but I also need to eat some meats. I can't rely on vegetables only. I like balanced diet much more.

We might have vegetarian dishes every now and then, but it's rare our meals are completely vegetarian. I admit I like my meats too much - however, I can and do cut down on eating too much of it.

@much2say That would be hard to do. That would be like a burger per week..or small steak. However, maybe not that bad.. I eat more chicken or fish usually.

Yes, I think most of us would do well to cut down on our meat consumption.

@snowy22315 I think they say you should only have beef the size of a deck of cards per week - not any more than that.

The processed veg stuff isn't too good for you. However, it can still lower cholesterol.

I will never turn vegetarian, but we often eat vegetarian. Like you we are partial accidental vegetarian. We usually eat past for lunch and fruits. At noon I think we eat vegetarian all the time. In the evening it depends, but it happens, a vegetable curry, savory crepes filled with mushrooms, hummus, breaded eggplants. Vegan never, I like to have eggs and cheese.

Since hubby was so ill he does not eat a huge meal and meat appears to offend him. We had an Impossible patty tonight with chard greens, mushrooms and some bread crumbs that I tossed in with the mushrooms so it was like stuffing.

I don't plan it specifically but I'm fine with a meatless meal. My ex always wanted meat. If I made penne al vodka, I had to heat up some meatballs for him to go with it.

I eat vegetable because it's what I crave for at the moment, but am very choosy as to the kinds I eat. Most are salads or made into spring roll.

I go meatless probably two out of the seven days of the week, but it’s just because I don’t want any (I recently gave up all beef though). I could easily be a pescatarian, and only eat fish, if I had the money. I prefer fish as my only “meat”.
