The social committee provided snacks for staff in our break room today. These were rice Krispy Treats partially dipped in green candy melts, with a small black heart. Our school owns two pretty good size (six foot or so) Grinches. They make appearances at this time each year. Last year we had a box like a Valentine box that people dropped notes into about acts of kindness. Grinch's heart (pinned on paper) grew and grew from all the love. So it is becoming part of the routine here. Grinch arrived today. Students and staff were invited to wear Grinch themed clothes or even just green clothes to make him welcome. The cafeteria colored everything green for lunch. That included Macaroni and cheese. I think the kids had a lot of fun with it.

My mother used to turn all the food green like that on Saint Patrick’s day. We liked it but my one of my exes was so disgusted over hearing about it. I guess that isn’t a normal thing to do on Saint Patrick’s day in most homes. I think this event at your school sounds like a lot of fun and I’m glad they did it again this year. The Rice Krispie treats look tasty!

I love the grinch theme! That is the theme in my house my youngest adopted the fact the Grinch is way better than Santa and I roll with that because of the whole thing you try to take someone's Christmas spirit but you really can't.

We will be getting daily suggestions from the Grinch. One of the two is animatronic and has music and dances when the button is pushed. In the past it has been not unusual to see classes of kiddos, and the janitors, etc. having impromptu dance parties.

It was ! The Grinch is going to ask the kids to do something special every day. Today it was to quietly spread kindness, by smiling and waving at people without talking.

Several of the kids were hesitant. They even topped the pieces of bread with green dyed cornmeal.

@GardenGerty One of my granddaughters made homemade cupcakes the other day and decided to put food dye in the frosting. Made half gray and half green. odd but tasted good.
