Does your house reflect who you are as a person?

It may sound strange, but it cannot be denied that our possessions at home reflect who we are. We can be minimalists or maximalists in our world. I can say that I am a maximalist because I love collecting things. For now, I am more focused on collecting novel books and planning to have my own mini-library of these things. It shows my persona as such an individual. Does the tale of your life unfold in your home? Image Credit: i.pinimg.com

Yes, and no. We put a lot of what we like in it sure, but it's random so it would be hard to say.

@Shavkat When you live with more than one person, then yes. that would make sense.

I am living with my immediate family; the other parts of the house are mixed with their personas. My real characters come out naturally in my room.

If I am going to visit your place, I can tell how a cat lover you are. I do have some dog toys for my fur babies here, too.

Well it should, but it does not for me. This place is not my home sadly. I do not feel comfortable and at ease here..that is why I want to move. Glad you are building your library.

I have not built it yet. It is also the same thing here. My place is not my place. So, I just collect them and build one if we have our own place in the future.

Whoah! I am sure I cannot top that count at present. I still have some of my university books piled in boxes. I really do not have enough time to go over them.

@LadyDuck I also love my textbooks. They were my best of friends during my school days. I must say that I lost some of them.

@Shavkat We have our old school books in boxes. We do not want to throw them, they are not in the books count.

I have a very small apartment so what you see are notebooks, papers, and pens in my workroom telling on me as a writer and poet online and in the fronts room you see books and videos and a player telling on me as a reader and movie lover

You had described yourself perfectly. I do love writing, but not professionally. Thank God that I am a bookworm. I had learned so many things from them and applied them when teaching online.

I love music. Although I listen to Spotify or YouTube's music nowadays, I'm still keeping a lot of CD albums. I also love reading. So there are many books in my apartment.

My younger sister used to collect lots of DVDs. In fact, I sort them out into a big box before moving to a new place. I was supposed to throw them, but she strongly refused the idea of doing it.

I would probably say my home does reflect who I am. It’s pretty quirky, but I love it. Not so much my apartment itself, but how I made it my home.

I can relate to you. Our place is not ours. But then, we make it our abode based on our personas.

I cannot pick up the passion for doing it now. Although I still read online, I am not holding the books on hand. I wish I could do it if time permits in the future.

In away, of course if had money then it would really reflect us, but thats only true to a point too. Many people with a abundant of money own things just to own things. If I had thriving money it would look exactly how I wanted.

In fact, some people are being controlled by having a lot of money. They change into a new version of themselves, either bad or good. It is a common transformation that makes me feel ill when meeting this kind of person.

I think our home pretty much reflects who we are. Sort of in the middle between collecting too much, but not too much. I don't like a lot of knick knacks.

When we moved to our new place, I threw away things that were not essential for us. I wanted to get rid of things that could add to the storage. Although I sold some of them online to gain some money.

In some ways yes it does. I like things neat and organized, where I have no trouble finding them and my rooms and home do reflect that to a certain extent.

I can tell. When we still had the garden, my mother and the She was so meticulous that things should be in the right place, and of course, my old man did the same thing at home. The rest of the family worked together on weekends in the garden. Although I water our plants every day at that time,.

Mostly where we are, you'll find fresh food cooking and books. I used to collect, but I go a bit over the top, so now I control myself. Its also better for us to be lightweight in our belongings, then we can travel easier. Someday, we'll settle then my woodworking and fishing gear will find a home again.
