I read that during a hot bath or shower, the body reacts to heat by releasing certain chemicals called "dynorphins" into the brain –— which are responsible for the initial discomfort we experience. Simultaneously, the body also releases "endorphins", the famous hormones that improve mood & ease tension. What's interesting is, once secreted, dynorphins make endorphins more effective. This allows them to have a stronger euphoric effect on us. In my own experience this is 100% true

For me, it is a cleansing ritual..as hot as I can, then I rinse in cold as I can. Seals the deal. Keeps me youthful.

I always take a hot bath when I feel tired in the evening. It makes me feel so much better.
