Do you carry aspirin in your purse?

I just found a little tin that had almonds in it, but it is really pretty and small. I have long been thinking I should carry aspirin in my purse. It is perfect for that. I don't get headaches, but they may be good to have in case of emergency. I could even give them to someone else if needed. I have heard it said that if aspirin was being discovered today it would be lauded as a miracle drug. So, not a bad idea to carry some with you.

I have a couple of tins that I carry with me with medications in them. I have a slip of paper with what they are in the top of the tin so if something happens to me the medical team knows what they are. I also carry a list of the medications I am currently taking too, although with the computer system we have locally it's all on the system. My pain medication is in the Altoids tin that my Bill carried with him. It's very precious to me and I would hate to lose it, so it is in the secure part of my purse with the tin with the aspirin and allergy medications.
Make sure that if you carry the aspirin with you that you somehow mark the tin so that if you're rendered unconscious the paramedics will know what is in the tin at a quick glance.

I am pretty sure paramedics would be able to identify aspirin, since most are marked, but good idea

@snowy22315 The thing about paramedics is that they usually are going through things in a hurry, so they really aren't taking the time to read a little tablet when the lid has the medication ID in it. I usually wear a medic alert bracelet, but haven't replaced the one I lost in the fire. I will have to remember to do it either this month or next. Thank you for reminding me!

@snowy22315 In his forties, out of the blue, he developed an allergy to shrimp. If he even sits a couple seats away from someone eating shrimp his throat starts to cut off. The big lug should carry around an epipen.

@snowy22315 I am allergic to aspirin and to Diclofenac. It is written on my Healthcare Card's chip. All doctors check it if you have an emergency.

We have aspirin at both ends of the house; but it's a good idea to carry some in your purse. Have a good day.

Exactly. I'm easy to get a headache, so I always carry some with me. Or like you say someone else might need them.

It probably would be a good idea...if you don't use them for yourself, others might benefit.

I used to carry it with me and stopped quite some time ago. I did help people out when I gave them one. I usually if find what I have take it at home and then that is it for the day. That is a good idea to carry it because you never know when you or someone else will need one.

That is what I was thinking..who knows, you could get unexpectedly stranded somewhere too, and it is better than nothing to have, or to give to someone.

I think aspirin has more potentially life saving measures.

I carry a little zipper thing that works well to put some over the counter meds in and such. It's just in there for when it's needed, and sometimes, it is. Like you said, it's not a bad idea at all.

It is hard on your stomach, particularily if you take it with no food in there, and don't drink enough water with it.

Yes, I have Tylenol (can’t take anything above a couple of baby aspirin because of my asthma) with me always. You never know when old age will hit a knee or a hand, so it’s always nearby.

I usually only take it at night to help with sleep and help prevent heart attack and stroke..not that I think that I will have them, it is just a precaution.

I am going to put some in this tin while I am thinking about it, so it doesn't fall by the wayside.
