I am fascinated by shows like I Shouldn't be Alive, where people endure circumstances where they easily could have been killed. I watched one last night where a plane crashed into I believe it was the Sea of Cortez off the coast of Baja Mexico. Anyway, it was during a storm with huge waves. This area also had sharks and giant squids. It was two men and their fathers. One of them actually swam 10 miles in these conditions to get help. He had a life vest and swim fins on..but he said he had bought cheap ones of each that cost like 4 bucks and were supposed to be for a child 10-15. Anyway, somehow he made it, including having to avoid a coral reef. Despite the horrible situation and having had to float in the sea for about a day and half...they all managed to survive. A truly amazing story. Have you seen any good survival stories lately?

Yeah, if I had unlimited streaming...I would probably watch them all. Freevee has a lot of them, and sometimes they are on regular TV as well.

@Bensen32 Yes, that is "I Shouldn't,t be Alive." I have to say I agree with them. Most of those situations don't seem survivable.

I would also want to watch the one you have mentioned. I also sometimes watch survival stories on YouTube. For example another video showed a man build a tiny house from scratch all by himself in the woods. He had a camping air bed which makes me believe he bought it in the city and travelled with it in the woods.
Then a snake comes in his tiny house at night and he has to use a torch to see it and tame it. Apparently, he doesn't have electricity. I would see him cook using traditional ways. But the entire video was about building a tiny house.

At least he had materials to build the house. In most of these shows they really have very little or their goods get lost during the original problem or something.

@snowy22315 Survival shows are fun to watch. I saw another one called "most dangerous ways to school".

@Shavkat I find them enthralling..True stories to me are almost better than fiction.

I don't watch any shows such as that although I'm sure I'd enjoy them. I could never swim 10 miles! Have a good weekend.

I like those shows alot. I am sure few could especially in the ocean. I have thought of swimming the expanse of the lake before to the other side which may be about half a mile..but I think I might want to be wearing a life jacket in case I got tired. I would have to swim back as well.

It is very easy to get interested in the story as they are real people with real life survival situations. Plus I like to learn about the areas where it happened, and how they survived.

I use to like shows like that. They would keep me on the edge of my seat. The things they'd run across to survive would just keep me beyond fascination.

Does the TV show "Survivor" count? I do watch a program called "I Survived." One episode this guy went off a cliff down a ravine crashing into tree branches on the way down. A tree branch punctured his throat, but eventually after over 24 hours not being able to climb back up the hill, he decided to walk along this fence that lined the area. After going a couple of miles, he found an opening which led to the highway and was rescued. Happy Ending!
