How I spent my weekend 1/12/24 - 1/14-24

Friday my husband took the day off of work and went hunting. My little ones and I had to run some errands and then at 4pm my niece popped by to visit and play with my little one.
Saturday my stepson went to the required monthly meet up for the marines. My husband went hunting again.
My son, my daughter and I went out for the day. We had to pick up his guitar that needed to be fixed and buy him some new shoes.
Sunday my husband let me sleep in while he got up with our little one. We went and visited his mom, dad and sister for a few hours. His niece happened to be there as well which was more fun for my little one.
We got pizza on the way home so we didn’t have to cook. My husband folded his laundry for the first time since he moved in here 3 years ago. I couldn’t believe it and was very happy.
My husband guilt trips me about not spending enough time with him or being on my phone etc. He said how I talk to people on blogs I don’t even know. I assume he knows I’m on myLot somehow which now I am leery about even writing anymore. If I stop writing here I won’t have anywhere to talk about things and I think that will be worse for my mental health. This has been my safe place for 17 years I don’t want that to change.
Photo is of a bare tree I was going to use for the scavenger hunt I am participating in but chose a different photo and thought this was a nice one to share here.

I am not liking what I am hearing about your husband guilt tripping you. If you can’t get your needs properly met, you won’t be 100% for anyone else, including him. Please do not give up something that is beneficial to your mental health. Maybe if he didn’t hunt so much he could spend more time with you. I’m still remembering him cleaning the deer in your kitchen, and him having you clean up the mess.

@AmbiePam during the winter he doesn’t have as much time to go out hunting since it gets dark early. He’s only gone 3 times so far this year. Over his 10 day Christmas break he went 6 times. I don’t complain about it though he rarely complains if I want to go anywhere. It’s just there’s so much to do that he doesn’t help out with and doesn’t seem to understand how much it takes to keep the house clean, make dinner and entertain my two year old.

Yes, you need to be with him, hard to do if he is out hunting. Being on myLot should not be a problem. You could develop some bad vices instead. I have always found this to be a good place for my mental health.

@GardenGerty He’s only gone out hunting 3 times this month so far. Saturdays are when fun things to do with the little one usually happen but I rarely suggest going to so then since he always makes plans to go hunting. He works long hours so I don’t complain but at the same time I get zero breaks so I really don’t like the guilt trips when I have no extra time to just sit when I need to clean. He has been more helpful washing a plate after he eats a few times a week and having folded his clothes for the first time. Anything he does helps free up a little time so I try to slack on the housework to spent a little more time with him.

@LadyDuck I try to pick on him lately when I see him on his phone or the tv or the computer and tell him what he tells me that he should pay attention to me. I’m joking when I say it but he isn’t. I have been trying to spend more time with him since he washes his dinner plate a few times a week and folded his laundry that one day etc. I’ve had to slack off on housework to sit down with him but it’s important to spend more time with my daughter as well so the housework can be delayed sometimes.

Lovely photo. I guilt trip my husband about not spending enough time with ME! Thanks for the update. I would miss all my friends here if I couldn't MyLot anymore. Have a good day.

@Lindaohio I certainly could do that but I don’t want to. He works long hours and I don’t complain if he is out hunting a lot or what not. As long as he isn’t out with other women I don’t care.
After 17 years I would miss everyone here as well. I don’t know what I would do without myLot

@LindaOHio my husband gets mad if people talk in the room when he’s watching. I think it’s rude he can pause it and listen to what people have to say. He used to expect my kids and I to leave the room if they wanted to say something to me while he was always watching tv. No way! I like when my kids talk to me. Too soon they will leave the nest and he can watch things in silence I am never letting them feel television is more important then what they have to say.

@shaggin We are both retired; so my hubby has no excuse for not spending time with me except for his watching TV!!! 17 years is a long time!!!

I'm glad mylot has been your safe place for 17 years and I hope that doesn't change. Nice to know how you spent your weekend. I went to church on Sunday morning. I spent the rest of the weekend with mom at home.

@mildredtabitha well it has changed already in my last post I refrained from sharing all in case he read it. This makes me sad. I hope you enjoyed your day at church.

@mildredtabitha it won’t fade I no longer have a safe place where I can write anything free of those who know me reading it.

What does your hubby work at that he can just take time off to go hunting?

@BarbaraPrz he’s the head of his department as a quality control manager/supervisor in a machine shop. He gets a certain amount of days off a year and takes a few to go hunting.

@snowy22315 I never myLot when he is home that’s why I’m baffled how he knows I go on “blogs and talk to people you don’t know”.
Oh I did I told him how I was so happy about it I wrote it on the list of things to go in this jar.

You did have a good weekend. Nice to know that. I agree with you that talking is good for mental health and you should continue doing it here.

@allknowing it’s definitely nice to have a nice weekend and not a bad one . I hope your weekend was good!
MyLot is good for me but if my husband can read it then it will cause him to be nasty about the things I write. I have kept this place my secret place for 17 years I don’t want that to end.

Leaving myLot would be a shame so I hope you can continue to chat here for your own well-being.
All in all it sounds like you had some good family time over the weekend.

@Marilynda1225 I kind of feel bad because we went to see his parents and we never just go and visit my parents who live across the street. Next time I get a calm day I’ll have to take my little one over to visit mine.

@Marilynda1225 generally someone over there is sick or here or they have appointments or are out shopping or vice versa so we don’t see each other much. I know they would love to see my little one so I’ll try sometime this week to get together with them .

@RebeccasFarm even on Facebook he gives me crap about simple things I post so I block him. If he knows I’m here writing I can’t be free to write about things I need to .
