Day 185 Revelation 22:1 He showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 There will be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His servants will serve Him. 4 They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no night there. They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. They will reign forever and ever. 6 Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” The Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place. 7 “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” 8 Now I, John, saw and heard these things. When I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9 Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” 10 He said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. 11 He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.” 12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning, and the End, the First and the Last.” 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. 16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” 17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Let him who hears say, “Come!” Let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. 18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. When someone gives you the privilege of a lifetime to see something no one saw before, how does it make you feel? How do you feel when you experience something no one did before you? Jesus gave John the prophecy of what would take place in the end. He didn’t tell Him what would happen, He showed John what would take place during the Tribulation. He showed him Satan’s final judgement and all those who followed him. Jesus showed him New Jerusalem in all its glory coming down from heaven to earth. He showed John the holy city, its foundations, its gates, and the immense size. Jesus showed him the trees that healed the nations, water of life, the tree of life, He left nothing out of everything He showed him. Then He said, blessed is everyone who reads the words of this prophecy. Jesus told him who could go into the city and who stood outside. Nothing that defiled man could gain access to the New Jerusalem, including those who subtracted or added to the words of the prophecy. Jesus told John that those who added to the prophecy would receive the plagues found in the book, and those who subtracted from it would see their life subtracted from life with Him. Christians, those who do His will and obey Him, will see, and enjoy the New Jerusalem. They will live with Him, taste the fruit of the trees, drink from the water of life, and eat from the tree of life. They will enjoy eternal life with Jesus, the Lamb of God who took their sins away with His sacrifice on the cross. They will serve Him with joy and know His blessings for eternity. Do you know Jesus as Savior and Lord? Will you partake of the blessings found in New Jerusalem? Or will you stand outside because you enjoyed the pleasures of sin? While Jesus lived and walked among the people of Israel, teaching them about the kingdom of heaven, He told the people what the end would be like for those who rejected Him. Luke 16:19 “There was a certain rich man clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 There was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 Being in torment in Hades, he lifted his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted, and you are tormented. 26 Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’” Matthew 8:11 “I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Those on the outside will see the joys and blessings of New Jerusalem, but they will be unable to enter. They will weep and gnash their teeth for eternity because they rejected Jesus, the Lamb of God, who took their sins away, while they enjoyed their sins more than eternal life. Will you stand outside and see the blessings of New Jerusalem, or will you be inside New Jerusalem and enjoy the blessings of eternal life? The choice is yours. Joshua 24:13 ‘I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat of the vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.’ 14 “Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! 15 If it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (NKJV) Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (NKJV) Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for the prophecy of this book. Thank you for showing me Your love and desire for me to be with You for eternity. Let me enjoy the blessings of this book and drink from the water of life and taste the fruit of the tree of life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. It is a bit unclear there, where the voice of the angel stopped, and Jesus took over the speaking. Perhaps, it was when Jesus said, "I, Jesus." The Angels of the Lord, often just speak, what God, and his son, have told them to say, though. When the Angel talked to Abraham, it was like God, himself was speaking. In Genesis, chapter 22, we see this: 'But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”' It seems the angel was speaking for God, using God's words.

I've learned whenever you see 'the Angel of the Lord' mentioned. It isn't an angel, it's the preincarnate Son of God. You see this in several places in Scripture. New King James shows angel capitalized to show who spoke. Other places call Him, Man, or the Captain of the Lord's host as in Daniel and Joshua. The angel of the Lord is always the preincarnate Christ. If it only says angel, then it's an angel and not Jesus or the preincarnate Son of God. Angels don't speak for God. Have a blessed day.

@just4him Thanks. I didn't realise fully that the Angel of the Lord, was Christ. Yes, the Angel of the Lord does seem to be closer to God, so to speak, than the other angels, so it makes sense that this is the preincarnate son of God.

I pray to be inside the new Jerusalem and enjoy eternal life. I wouldn't want to be outside. I can't wait for a time when there will be no night anymore. Nice short prayer. Amen. I appreciate the bible study. The book of revelation is very prophetic. I hope the time for all the prophecies in the book of revelation to be fulfilled is near.
