I love making a batch of thick soup for several meals. I try to keep it low but never fails, make enough to feed a huge family plus. Freezing works well. My granddaughter loves the soup I made today so I told her I'll leave her some containers. It seems each time I make it, it turns out different but so delicious. My base this time was chicken broth but the meat inside is diced steak chunks (precooked.) Hope you all are keeping warm. I'm finishing up here at my son's and heading back to my trailer. I do all my food prep here since he has a lot of space. I'll catch up soon. Do you make soups?

I really do like my homemade soup, usually venison and veggies or chicken and rice.

@noni1959 My husband is a hunter and we've been eating venison for many years. It saves a lot of money and to us it's more flavorful than beef.

@1creekgirl My ex husband hunted but never for deer. My son-in-law likes to deer hunt and my oldest daughter will process and make the jerky. Amazes me what they can do.

@celticeagle I just took some out of the freezer to thaw for Tuesday's dinner. It takes awhile to thaw in my refrigerator. I'm thinking of a bean soup later in the week but unsure how I want to make it.

Your soup looks absolutely delicious. I love homemade soup, and several years ago I went all out. I made six different kinds of chicken soup in one day. I had seen it done on some morning show, and got really ambitious. It took forever, but I liked all but one of them.

That was so ambitious! I'd like to make up several and freeze. It's hard for me to get all my veggies in except when I make soup.

I've made soup many times over the years. I never thought of putting baby corn in. That looks tasty.

@jstory07 That's what she did but there was like a creamy base to hers. I know she did something with milk but I've never been able to figure it out.

I'm sorry you have diabetes 2. I hope you can make some good soups that don't elevate your sugar. My granddaughter has diabetes 1. She wears a pump, does injections etc.
