I went to see "The Beekeeper" which was one Amber had written about. It starred Jason Statham in the title role who generally plays a really great bad guy..however, in this movie he was a vigilante. The movie was really pretty violent though as well as unrealistic. It was pretty interesting, but I won't see a second Beekeeper movie, and I think this will probably be a franchise like "The Equalizer."

LOL Are we thinking of the same actor? I have never seen Jason Statham be a bad guy. I didn’t think he’d willingly play one. Maybe we didn’t see the same Statham movies: Transporter, Bank Job, Expendables, he’s always been the vigilante in those. I have not seen the Crank movies though. Maybe he was the bad guy in that?
Tell your friend if he wants action AND to laugh, to watch Operation Fortune with Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, and Cary Elwes (Princess Bride). I saw that about nine months ago. He’ll get his action, but he’ll bust a gut laughing. It was a film by Guy Ritchie. I’m not a Guy Ritchie fan, but this one was unlike the ones I’ve seen him do.

He is noted for being a bad guy in most of his flicks. a couple The Fast and Furious Movies, The Wrath and others..sometimes he is also a vigilante,,other times maybe in a comedy. I think he is a versatile actor.

@snowy22315 I just haven’t seen those. But I’ll look for his early movies. I bet I haven’t seen any of them. Although, I may not like him that way. Did you like him as one? If you think he was good as one, then I’ll give it a try. 
*I found three listed that said he was a bad guy. I HAVE seen one of them, but didn’t realize he was bad. I’m going to go watch one of the other two. I’m intrigued!

It wasn't a bad movie,,,just not my cup of tea. I picked it for friend, and I was sorry,,because he was falling asleep during it, as per usual. That is the last time I pick a movie based on what I think he will like.

I didn't really like that one either...but it seems most do. I would have rather seen The Boys in the Boat or Thanksgiving.

I like him as an actor. I have not seen him in much. I do not go out to movies anymore since I got Netflix. I would rather watch movies and series on Netflix in the comfort of my home either on the TV or on the computer. I do not recall seeing that one.

I am not too much into violent movies. However there are some with violence I have enjoyed like the Lethal Weapon series because they also offer interesting story lines throughout,

I kind of enjoyed this and mostly Jeremy Iron's lines, which were good. It is the kind of fluff that I watch when I do not want to tax my brain. As a franchise, it might do well though as the premise is a bit better than the Transporter movies.
