Collecting Beanies.

I have been reading through my old Collect It magazines that I found in my attic. In most of the magazines I have noticed that there are a lot of adverts and articles on the subject of collecting Beanies and beanie babies. These small fabric animal shaped bean bags were very popular amongst collectors in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
I often see these for sale in charity shops and car boot sales, so I wonder if people still collect them.
Did you ever collect Beanies?

@JudyEv That could be true. They were probably more for girls than boys.

They were very popular here and in America, maybe they did not make it to Australia.

Maybe they did not have them where you live, they were made by a company called Ty.

@LadyDuck Do Ty still make things, or have they gone out of business like so many other companies have?

I have a couple. I think only a few are highly collectible. I could be wrong. Have a good day.

I didn't have any Beanies of the type you are describing, but I have a beanie bear that can suck it's thumb and big toe, and I have a Baby William which is a tiny doll in a matchbox sized box and it has a beanie body. He's cute. I've had them both for years.

I did not collect them either. Some of them were worth a lot of money at the time. I always think of a Beanie as being a sort of knitted hat.
Your beanie bear , and baby William sound like fun.

@lazydaizee I know what you mean. Yes, I thought of a Beanie as a woolly hat too.
I'm very fund of my beanie bear, and my little Baby William!
You know what I wanted as a child and never got - a cabbage patch kid!

@sharonelton I remember them too, they were expensive to buy at the time. Did you ever have a Care Bear?
